Looks like my flying for the season is done and most of the planes have been cleaned up engines oil and batteries removed and put away at storage charge.
Started to do so work on the ViperSt. Started on the cowl cut two holes for the mufflers and cut an opening to let the hot air out, and made a deflector and some louvres to help get the air out. As you can see it's all in and has been glassed. It will be ready tomorrow morning to finish off the fillets and some sanding and see how it looks.

Well a little filler on it cleaned up all the edges and did a preliminary job on it will finish it all when the painting starts. This should deflec the air sufficiently and over the louvres to pull some hot air out the engine area. Found these cutouts to be pretty useless with out the louvres.

No airplane work for a bit. Gotta get some things built for the wife for Christmas. First up is turning an old stapler into a grasshopper stapler. All the wood is from an old 2x4. Just used my jointer to make two side nice flat and square to one another and then ripped a bunch of 1/8" wide strips on the table saw. Turned out pretty neat looking and I think she will love it so on to paint. But first it's bed time.
