Terry that thing is gorgeous! I could see adding false ribs to round out the fuse. A person could change the look of that plane to anything they wanted to!

I thought about that as well! Actually sort of was planning on it but decided to do a test run first.

Prop showed up, should be sweet on there! It will have a True-Turn cub hub as well. Only problem is I'm going to have to carve the crap out of the cowl for the heads and the mufflers. Looks like I may have to split it. I may have to make some templates and cut it first to see how much is left. My old Hempel cub that had this engine was cut so large the cowl flexed enough to get on there.

Finally have something to test my own engine mount on!

I love that prop!

I was wondering about the cowl. Even with a 40 Twin it just barely clears with angled plugs.

Yea, cowl is tight. Have to pull the plugs to slip it on. Also had to lower the thrust line 3/8" or the heads would be cut out of the top of the cowl almost. Since im not running a spinner itll still look good.

This cowl would be perfect for a dle61 though! I'll probably build another one and set it up for that depending on how it flies.

Terry,
Im in a combine for a week and you damn near have a prototype in the bones. WTF my days off or something? Nice job thus far.

But on a serious note... looks great! your passion for what you do is an awesome force. Keep it up.

On a design note... Im always afraid that the wing will pull off the top of the cabin and seperate from my fuselage (on my new to me cub). although it never does, is there some trick to getting the fuselage to wing masses adequate to "hold on" to eachother? it just slays me. I love the no strut design. its a must!

Good luck!
