    What beer ya drinking tonight?

I've never liked Guinness either but couldn't remember why so tried it again after 20 years or so a few months ago but still didn't like it. To me it tastes watered down or thin. I love stouts too. Don't get me wrong I would take that over a buddy wieser any day. Of course a lot of people I...

Anybody interested in a P-47 Build?

Got tired of looking at the tail so decided to start the fuse. Ran out of T-pins so had to run up to Jo-Annes to get some more. Funny how they manage to disappear. My son must have a stash of all my things missing somewhere.

    What beer ya drinking tonight?

Been to this brewery with my cousin when they just started out. Now I found this in Whole Paycheck (Whole Foods). Why was I there? To get some sexy bread for some homemade pastrami sandwiches. Photo of the pastrami smoking with some boudin yesterday.

Anybody interested in a P-47 Build?

Tried to make some fancy hand sanding block with a dowel then remembered (usually after the fact) that I had a whole bunch of bits for my Dremel that have probably never been used. Found the one below and it made the perfect curve and was done in 15 minutes. Will probably put the tail stuff...

Cut some G10 to fit on the recess I made. This is for the shroud that is at the elevator leading edge. On the real one on the inside it has a slight curve where the elevator attaches. So cut some balsa strips for that and tried to think of some whizz bang idea to sand a curve in it.

    What beer ya drinking tonight?

I've been taking pictures but am behind! Forgive me. This was a couple weeks ago I think. Went to the local total wine and my goal was to get 3 22oz'rs that I have never had. Random picks. First Anderson Valley Heelch O' Hops. Was good! Casey Jones Imperial IPA. Liked this one too but memory...

Anybody interested in a P-47 Build?

Here you go. I was looking for something else then came across them by accident originally. They got too much stuff there it's dangerous. It's nice I can just go pick up at will call though. http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/121/2317/=zfb2um Robert

Anybody interested in a P-47 Build?

Now I needed to match up the holes with the elevators. Knowing this will most likely present some issues I put my thinking cap on and found some center punches at McMaster Carr. They were 3/16 holes and they had some 3/16 center punches. Worked great! Then I used the Robart guide to drill the...

Anybody interested in a P-47 Build?

Ok now for something that's not in the instructions. Made a sanding block: With a little lip. Used on the trailing edge of the stab. Did both sides. Before I do anything else needed to drill the holes for the Robart hinges. Never used them before so bought the guide... And...

Anybody interested in a P-47 Build?

Tacked the leading edge on the fin with CA. Used the plane to get it close to the sheeting. Glued the rudder to the leading edge. Participated in the "What beer ya drinking tonight?" thread so glued the rudder about a 1/16 to low. So grabbed some scrap sheeting, glued, cut around it...

Anybody interested in a P-47 Build?

Thanks! Have had a couple days of actual cool weather so in-between golfing for the first time in 2 years and seeing Van Halen at the Hollywood Bowl I got some work done. Going to be a 100 probably this weekend so imagine won't get much done then will see. FYI I'm a little ahead of the photos...

Good keeping me on task haha. Heat has been killing me here but fall is on the way...I hope! Put aside the stab to work on the fin and rudder. Got it framed up.
