    New Here? Introduce yourself!

I don't smell any gas fumes in my Suburban unless there is a leak. The way the vent works, it really does not vent much while upright.

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

This time of the year with mud wherever there is no snow on the ground, the Crack Pitts on 3S is about all I fly. The only limit is if the wind is faster than it is capable of flying. Last week, the wind was strong enough that I had to tack to get it back to me.

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

I don't like any "spec" series type rules in any racing. The Lycoming IOxx-580 engine is probably what most would use anyway, but the prop should be open. This kind of socialized racing has all but destroyed Indy cars. Anytime you have a racing series with less technical diversity than even...

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

And actually, 3D printing services are pretty readily accessible now. Just have to make the design and export it into an .stl format. Solidworks is a very professional tool, but you could do this on far less expensive 3D CAD systems.

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

They are made from ABS, and once you have a 3D printer and the file that was generated in Solidworks, it is easy to make.

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

You will probably be able to fly before we will, so lets see how they fit anyway, and then I'll send you some.

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

IDK, lets wait until Matt installs and flys them. We need to be certain they are beneficial.

    Servo bench testing

Sounds great! I think we need to make a spreadsheet with a summary of the data, (and a really robust tester).

Some supply guidance on starting into balsa plane(s)

Felt tip paint sticks, they look like a Sharpie but are paint. I use them to stripe screw or nuts to make it obvious if it rotates. Make the stripes all vertical, and you can immediately see if they moved.

    3dhs 92" edge 540 !!!

As compared to a DA-60 with a header and RE2, where there is considerable mass aft.

    standard and metric rant!

I know, really! Extreme Flight uses all metric threads except for the wing bolts which are 1/4, and 3DHS uses SAE all over but M6 wing bolts. Cars are just as bad in a different way, they use hex, Torx, Phillips, socket head cap screws all over. One of the best Mil-specs is whatever you do...

    Lipo vs Li-Ion

The only battery I have puffed (besides the HK Nano Tech crap) was a LiFe when I tried to charge it at 5c! I really prefer the 8.4volts and on the 91 EF Extra, it needs the voltage. I am considering running 3S Lipo's with a Castle BEC Pro to regulate the voltage to 8.5 volts.

    Radio Wars, Part 2

I agree, and the fact that Futaba is sold and serviced by Tower Hobbies, is 90% of the reason I would not choose a Futaba. There are pros and cons to anything and everything, but my experience with Tower's "Hobby Services" is pretty much a deal breaker for me. As far as I am concerned, there is...
