    Programmable Mixes

Well, one example is a rudder to elevator mix. When flying a knife edge (KE) most planes will pull to the canopy or landing gear depending on where the C/G is. In my case 4% rudder to elevator mix, makes the plane fly perfectly straight in KE.

    RC Radio Latency

Yes, it has some programming features, but as far as latency goes, who knows? I would think it would be similar to the DX-8, but that is just a guess.

Fly Low In "Middle East" --Joe flies for the Prince of Dubai"

That makes sense, I am sure the Prince would love to have it, and the shipping cost back is about what it is worth.

104" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

If/when you mangle the aluminum landing gear reinforcements, you will need to make new ones. When you make the new ones, you can save some weight but cutting off the unused areas. As you can see from the FEA, the corners have no effect. Stock type: It has zero effect on the stiffness and...

FAQ Setting up and programming multiple servos per surface; programming Hitec servos

Nice article Cody! Last year, Cody came over and he helped me set up the wings of a new 104 AJS with programmed 7955's (only because I had a JR 9303). Over the Winter I will switch to 4, Futaba BLS-157HV's. I just got a new DX-18 and it has a 7 point servo balancing feature, so I will put...

104" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

Well, it was 50%. One side split open on the first flight, the other lasted 3 flights. Maybe a silicone tube with stainless steel tie-wraps?

104" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

I might fly it tomorrow, 45F deg. Since I used to have stock type mufflers, the holes leftover in the cowl are right in front of the headers, so it has to be cooling them a little anyway.

104" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

I found some 1 1/4 inch polyolefin shrink tubing with adhesive inside, for going over the teflon tape wrapped flex section of the header. I ran it up on the driveway at home, and it is working well.

FAQ I'm new to 3D... where do I start?

The 8FG sure is a great radio for the money, but mechanically, it is chintzy feeling. The case feels like the thing that comes with RealFlight sim. For $3K, the 18MZ should come with a CNC aluminum case, like a MacBook Pro does for $2K.
