I was able to sheet the stabs. And this is the first time I have ever used epoxy and vacuum bagging. Thanks to Terry's advice it went so well, all I can say is thank you Terry and wow. So glad I was able to talk my wife out of making me put my Christmas presents under the tree ;) I still might...

I use three coats of wax, one coat of PVA, one and quarter wraps of wax paper that is taped at the ends. Then I have a sheet of mylar on the bench. I wet out the cloth using a playing card as a squeegee on the mylar. Then I place the tube on the wet cloth and bring up one side of the cloth...

52% edge 540 vs 540 slick. Last year, if you did not see the build thread on it, I built a custom 52% edge 540 and named her Sally. She was amazing, weighing at 68 lbs wet with a 3w 275. Unfortunately, while doing a low pass I had a dead stick and was unable to land her safely. After a few...

The wing tubes turned out great. They are extremely difficult to get off. I learned putting a playing card in between the wing tube and the socket, then putting a straw in between those two and using compressed air to pop them off it works great.

A build box is built with two side pieces that are perfectly parallel and a 1 inch thick MDF top. Next you have a 3/4 inch thick piece of plywood that is the same shape but just smaller than of your plane. Then make some grooves in the top so that the tips of the formers do not touch the build...

I mentioned the awesome CA glue that I use. I thought I would share the info on it. Through my work I was able to try out and test this glue. The medium is the one that I prefer the most. It has the longest open time which means it can wick the deepest into the wood, but be careful if there...

As all projects go....there was a small oops in my fuselage. I found that my " straight" build bench is not so straight. I usually build my planes on what I refer to as a build box ( see pics). This time I decided to forgo the build box and just use my bench ( against my wife suggestions ). So...

Thanks for the info. I have always been tempted to build one just to see the weight difference.
