New products @ Tail Dragger Rc

I bought two hand crank units at the beginning of last year. So far they are holding up pretty good. I expect come spring, there is gonna be a big change to my gas can. I'm older now, let the batteries do the crankin' 'stead of my arm. LOL

Tail Wheel Steering, Springs vs Fuel Tubing or other setups

Thanks.... I appreciate the comment. I can tell you right from the git go, it is already (from what I have noticed) so much more accurate and positive than any setup I have "FOUGHT" with. I tired it a little while ago with the weight of the stabs on and rolled the plane across the floor. As from...

Mysterious US military plane returns to Earth

Makes ya kind'a wonder what else is up there we know nothing about huh? No wonder the FAA wants to inhibit us RC enthusiasts. They're afraid we will capture on video something they do not want the public to know about. LOL....

    Measuring throws on control surfaces

I have actually used it on most everything up to my 42% Extra. Had to get the longer bar for that big bird. Other than that, it will work on pretty much anything.  You are very welcome. Just a suggestion cuz this is what works for me....(because I swear, I can lay something down and literally...

Tail Wheel Steering, Springs vs Fuel Tubing or other setups

Pretty good idea Robo.... I actually spent the afternoon contemplating a number of options. I got so frustrated, I decided, "screw it", I am putting a "steering" servo up in the fuse to control the tail wheel via pull-pull cable. My plan was to add some "relief" springs out at the tail wheel to...

    Measuring throws on control surfaces

hey, i was surfing through and saw your post, i'll take it if you're serious about unloading it.  i don't think i've ever checked throws!  just set, fly, and adjust.  would be interesting to measure them somehow for once. You got it....I don't think I still have your address.... shoot it to me...

Tail Wheel Steering, Springs vs Fuel Tubing or other setups

The absolute cure for perfect steering and no load on the rudder is to add a separate servo for just the tailwheel, but who wants the added weight. This too has been a concern for me. I don't want any load on the tail wheel in flight. I can not speak first hand of the geometry of the shock type...

Tail Wheel Steering, Springs vs Fuel Tubing or other setups

I actually like the theory of the direct drive but have never had one hold up in the long run on a 3D plane, but I've never tried one of yours.      Actually just ordered a couple more J&J's and one is for my 108" 3DHS that is set up for the direct drive.....never even gave it a thought. Cool...

    Measuring throws on control surfaces

On the Hanger 9 if the plane is not sitting level can you zero the reading out at neutral and measure from there?  I wondered about the weight.   Absolutely! That is the coolest feature of that unit. You can press the "acquire" button and establish a new datum line. Then simply read the...

    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

Awesome all the same. I am kind of thinking the "hanging" with the gray back drop of the sky would be awesome. I'll see what Larry can do with it and maybe have something solidified this week.

3D prop for DLE-170 on stock mufflers?

Do you still have yours for sale @2robinhood ? I think I'm going to keep it. I'd still like to try a carbon Falcon 32 X 10. I think you'll be very pleased with that prop. Been using that on my 157. Awesome prop....!!! Don't think it has been enough for the motor though. But I am far...

    Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi

Above post was from my original thought... I decided to do a search on images of the H-9 3.1M Sukhoi. If any of you have not done a search recently on google or bing, take minute to do so. You'd be surprised at just how many of your own planes show up in searches. Kind of cool... anyway, my...
