I agree. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the Hobbypartz motor, but why risk it when TH has a perfectly good motor that's tried and tested?

+1 Mine TH motor runs great. I would not recommend the servos though. After 15 flights with no introductions with the ground one servo is sounding pretty bad in one direction.

What about running 3 9g digital servos in the twisted hobbies slick? I cant find any 5g digitals. Will that make it too heavy?

I've heard a few complaints about servos from twisted hobbies, but I have to say- I've built 4 crack series planes, 3 for friends, and have always used the stock combo. The motors are great on 2 and 3s, and the servos do the trick. I have had zero issues with any of the 4.

I'm not sure how much the digitals you are looking at cost, but IMO, there's no benefit on this application. The EPP expands and contracts so much with the temp change, sun/shade/overcast, whatever, it just wouldn't get any more accurate if you threw digis on there.

My first crack yak has gone to hell and back for hundreds of flights and is still on its first round of stock hardware!

Just my opinion for anyone looking into getting a crack yak, not taking anything away from trying new things!
