And this is no BS. Being a federal employ (military) and knowing how "consent" to the government works. By electronically signing when you register gives your "consent" to have a federal representative inspect your dwelling and personal property. You are "inviting them in ".
I doubt they will ever do it unless you happen to be profiled.

For those of you who signed up quick and easy, you do realize that you have in fact agreed to not fly over 400 feet, right? The FAA included this as one of the conditions of registration. So fly a registered aircraft over 400 feet and you have violated the operational guidelines you agreed to, which in the mind of the FAA violates you on FAR Part 91.13 - Reckless and Careless operation.

I don't use or have a credit card so I emailed them for the paper copy of the form. The quad copters really messed up our fun flying hobby.

You already agreed to stay under 400 feet when you got your AMA and chose to fly an an AMA affiliated field.

The question is, how will this 400 feet be determined within accuracy if the aircraft does not contain altitude sensing equipment on it?

I think we can all expect to see the day where all receivers have some sort of altitude sensing capability, and when a model reaches that magic 400 ft threshold, it will idle down until you get safely under 400 ft.
