Alright! Saturday update. I built my pull/pull rudder system. You really have to enjoy small screws, which I do. It might be a little bit of an overkill but I want a strong rudder system mainly because of the really large tailwheel and the anticipation of operating in rugged terrain and dirt.

The next couple of items for the day were: #1 - I'm using 4-40 bolts and blind nuts everywhere that small screws or bolts are needed. 1 type of driver all the time. Also, my blind nuts are glued in place so they won't fall out down the line. I built the rack for my smart-fly and RX that goes under the floor in the cabin.

#2 - Something that's sort of interesting... The landing gear brackets that came with the kit are quite a bit smaller than the pre-manned Robarts in which I purchased. This matters because the plywood is cut for the smaller brackets... not a big deal though, I just chiseled out a little bit to get the larger brackets flush. I'm going to go ahead and seat the landing gear blind nuts, etc. because it's easy to do at this point.

#3 - I carved and sanded the new back of the back seat. Since it's not a standard cub seat with a barrier I had to actually build it... and it came out pretty nice.

The big news of the day was getting the interior and its parts painted. I'm sure down the line I'll have to touch it up, but I really couldn't go any further with the build until I got this done. The only thing left to paint is the green on the supports in the windshield. They're white right now. Anyway, it really starts to show the color pallet and a glimpse of the finished model.

So here's an update of the build to date a few photos. I'm so close, yet so far it seems like. Haha! I have a lot of detail work to do. Also, while I was rolling this thing around I can see already the vertical fin needs to be reinforced and maybe the horizontal stab too. I may sheet both to add strength. This project is fastly outgrowing my little 2 bedroom apartment. I may have to find a new place to work on it. Haha!

Oh wow! Do you have a BUSA Super Cub? I'd love to see more pics!

Yep, I don't have a lot of pics of it at the field really, a good friend of mine built it. It's covered with fabric with the stits (?) stitching and painted with PPG paint.

The last pic is of the full scale it was modeled after. He also built the matching floats which I have hanging in my garage. I've never had the floats on it, it would be a monster to transport and handle. He said building the floats was like building a whole other plane, lots of work but they came out really nice.

That looks fantastic! Really beautiful! I started to order the floats this one, but it is quite a build. Haha. I might get them down the road, but not right away.
