Dalton 300 non MEL

Gonna get this rascal back up and going with the Dalton build threads happening here! A 3W 157 on mufflers will power this monster. JR 8911HV's and a 3421 on throttle. All HV, regulator on throttle servo. Glacier 2S 3600's will keep the power flowing to the servos and ignition. JR XG11 and a RG1131PB Rx with E-Switch.

Once I get this motor tuned back up and running well, off it comes, and my 3W/JLE 164 (157 lower (mine)/170 cyls & pistons (thanks to Bill Vargas)) goes on!! Joe says its not gonna be a big top end engine, but it is gonna be torquey as hell! I may try to get into the 13 pitch thing with it.... Maybe a Falcon 30x13W, to "try" to tame the wicked prop rip it will produce!

I bought it back in 2010, when my 35% Carden 330S decided to take another dirt nap. 2 years after, I decided that it needed a facelift. Orange, Silver, black and white. Black N White is just checkers, but what the hey, right!

Background on the swap to the 164......

I had a piston pin failure in 2012 with the original 157CSTS on this airframe. Flew it for a couple of months on a DA150. Then I bought a 3W QS150, which woke the beast back up! I scrounged around and found a cylinder set for the 170, classic single spark. I kept things around and covered up. I got ahold of Joe Lewis here in Ohio. Told him what I wanted to do. He said "sounds like fun"! 2 weeks later, I got a text message with a video in it from Joe. Not sure what prop he used, but it rapped up like no tomorrow! I was impressed, to say the least!! But Joe had to machine off .010" or 1mm off the bottom of the cylinders, so that the exhaust port timing would be the same as the 157.

Pix soon! Gonna fly it prior to getting the paint done.

A pic or 2.......

I'm hoping the bottom shows up well. Just invasion stripes...... May have to border them in black or white....... Will see in a few days...

Cool, nice looking bird! I just did 6" stripes 8" apart on my slick too, similar to my PAU edge. I like the way they show up on the edge so well see. Sounds like a badass power plant you have there!

Thanks Rick. I love bright colors. I wasnt sure how the Orange and Aluminum covering would work together, but when I got my scheme going, it rocked! Im hoping the bottom pops like the top does.

The graphix that Eric at BandE did for it..... Home run! It doesnt take much to make me happy with the looks of the airplane. He just always seems to know what Im looking for.
