Looks great, your moving right along nice. It's hard to see but is that a carbon strip on the foam? It looks like the carbon I got for mine as referred by Terry. I am just about to start the sheeting. How did you like the vacuum pump?

Yes that it the unidirectional carbon fiber that Terry referred too. I love the vacuum bagging and the little EZ-vac is working out great. The wings in the picture are for a 38% Laser 200. We could only do one wing at a time but that is not a big deal for us. What I ended up doing is put the wing in the bag and we leave one corner open on the bag and use a shop vac to remove most of the air. After that we clamp that corner shut and turn on the pump. I bet it only took 3 or 4 minutes and all the air was gone and everything sealed up tight.

That sounds like what I will try. I am going to start with the bottom piece for the fuse for my first time. I got the same pump as you.

Thanks

I think you will like the pump. I did my front hatch first in case I screwed it up since it would be cheaper to ship. I didn't have any problems at all, and if you watched the videos that Terry did you will be just fine. Let me know how it goes.

First attempt at the vacuum was a success. And actually easy at that. Back in the old days its was difficult to get 100% pressure all the way around with just cement blocks. The pump works great for a little guy but I may invest in a bigger one as I plan to do more builds and would like to do multiple bags.

I started with the canopy hatch as Bipenut did. He right, it would be he cheapest to ship if I f'd it up.

Looking good, bagging it the way to go instead of weights. I'm going to get the stabs, rudder and belly pan done this weekend.
