I've never used hair spray to hold fiberglass to the wood surface before applying the epoxy. Would someone please explain this to me?

Spray a mist on the balsa and the glass will stick.

Have you considered the lighter (softer) easier to install Polycrylic?

Yes. I've used it before, but with limited success. It seemed too soft almost spongey when it cured. I've used Pacer and Bob Smith. I've never used West Systems. Thought I would give it a try.

If I ever switch to epoxy it will be West Systems. Good stuff it appears. keep us posted on your glassing work please.
