Scale JTEC 1/3 Scale Taylorcraft

Well just sat down and read the hole thing nice build and thanks for doing that. It looks like you spent 3 years building it. After reading the hole story I have a couple of questions.
1. The wing struts is one of my biggest concerns with all the connections because I read you managed to them from aerworks and they no longer exist.
2. In one of pictures in the background it looks like you also have a Decathlon, and so do I, how do the two plane compare in flying characteristics.
Thanks for your help.

There is almost no comparison to the flying characteristics of the Decathlon and the T-craft. The T-craft is the most gentle and predictable airplane you will ever fly. The Decathlon is very twitchy on the ground, not so with the T-craft. Of all the airplanes I have built and flown the T-craft is my absolute favorite. It always get lots of attention when I fly it and the smoke system makes for a very nice show. The DA100 is the perfect engine, more power than you need but it balances the airplane perfectly with no additional weight needed.

The T-craft floats like nothing else I own. For example, last year I lost a prop in mid flight. I was able to make a full circuit around the field and land smoothly dead stick.

Spent some time recently refurbishing the Taylorcraft. Purchased a new cowl and added more scale-like vents. Also repaired and repainted the wheel pants.

I love wheel pants, a plane looks naked without them unless it is a Cub. The do need rework every so often however. That's what winter is for? Nice louvers on the cowl.

I kept a spreadsheet for my build which I would be happy to share with you if you wish.
Hi;
Being a new member on this forum I need some hints concerning the incidence of the J Tec Taylorcraft, some say that the plans were from the 80's Bob Nelitz plans but modified. What would be considered from your experience; the most desirable eng. downthrust,wing incidence and stab; Thank you
