I cut some cooling vents into the bottom of the fuselage for the canisters.

Here are some more pics. The first one shows the vent holes from the inside and the rudder servo tray mount. The rest show the beginning of the seam removal for painting. I started by blocking the seams with 220 and then going over that with 320. I did some filling with Dolphin Glaze on the cowl and a few spots on the fuse.

The vertical stab had some shipping damage that needed repair.

I have powdered guide coat that I use at work, which would work well for that, but since I've been a bodyman for 42 years I see pretty well with my hands.

42 years........ sounds like a prison sentence.

I thought I was going to take the Ultimate fuselage to work today and prime it. My truck was at work so I thought I would put it in my car with the seats folded down but failed miserably. So, tomorrow I'm going to build a cradle so I can haul it in my truck.

Here are some pictures to catch up to where I am now.

After building a rack out of the junkiest wood I could find I hauled it to the shop and sprayed some epoxy primer, then after the primer dried I filled any pinholes and such with Dolphin Glaze then sanded that and reprimed those areas.

After sanding the primer I sprayed the whole fuselage, hatch and cowl white so Tony could lay out the stripes. When I got it back from Tony I took it back to the shop over the 4th of July to start painting.

I about gave Tony a heart attack with the cost of the colors. The price of the green almost made me vapor lock, and I deal with this crap every day. The pint of green was $225 .

I sprayed the green and the silver one day, then did the dark blue the next. I waited till Monday to clear it, because I had to get two days of flying in that weekend too.

The colors look awesome out in the sun.

The fuselage and parts are back at Tony's house for now, I just don't have room for them. I have yet to even touch the wings, stabs, and gear with a piece of sandpaper, so I have a ton of work left to do.
