Not much accomplished yet (as usual lol ) .The new "raised" landing gear block is laminated 3/4" hard ply sandwiched between 1/8" light ply. Will cut to length and contour the ends to fit the fuse. The thickness of the materials puts the bottom of the CF LG flush with the fuse.

Glue has dried and "cut and sand" is done. Will find bolt hole centers and check fit. It will get primed and painted black.
Weighed it at 3.8 oz. Once painted should be right at 4 oz. It should not throw off the cg all that much.
I have some great news to announce. Jtec and I :shake: are proceeding with the new muffler system! I will be doing sound level and performance testing of a proto type. The muffler system will fit other similar air frames and make an "option" available to those who wish to keep everything under the cowl/motor box :).

Geez, Here I thought my Laser thread would be never ending. At this pace, if my thread ever makes it to 48 pages, I'll be too old to fly the Laser anyway. . . . ..

Sorry Dude, the :devil-dance:made me say it.

So in putting satin behind me I was actually able to exactly center the 4 bolt holes and get the four oversized fender washers to fit perfectly! I replaced the 4mm x 25mm supplied bolts with 8-32 x 1.75" bolts. Will get it all primed, painted and DONE!
Then it's on to the muffler........

( Colors match extremely well. I really like how you can customize your own graphics from B&E from your lap top :).)

Looking good! Will you need to trim the header back any to fit your new Jtec/Dimes muffler in there?

Yes. But exactly where will be determined for fitting reasons alone. The muffler will come with a long inlet so it can get cut too for fit. That's the beauty of this system. Header length is not critical to performance. Can volume is.

Awesome. Looking forward to your results. I'm running my 70 on a set of ES pipes. Bought it set up that way so I'll probably leave it but I like your idea. Any idea on weight vs regular Jtec in-cowls?
