Worked on the throttle and choke servo setup...

I get 140/140 end points on my throttle servo with this setup... best case resolution. :)

I should probably bug @Terryscustom about getting a longer throttle arm for my DA70 so I can max out the endpoints with my throttle servo. I was able to get it to 100/100 but couldn't go farther.

The speed on that 9360 should be plenty :yesss:

Yeah, I like it! And, smooth and quiet, too. :)

I changed the linkages around just a bit.

I made a new motorbox top that is removable. I used #3 x 5/8" servo screws. Seemed fine until I reached my hand into the motorbox to get a wire. I almost pulled out a stump! :O

I replaced all the servo screws with 3/8" 4/40 machine bolts. Mucho bettah.

I finally finished the conversion from DLE to ZDZ today. I put my choke servo on a momentary switch like I always do. When I got to the field I put the plane together and filled it up with gas. I held my finger down on the choke switch while i flipped around 15 times. When the motor fired I released my finger and the switch sprung over and my choke opened up and the motor kept running. Nice when a motor starts up and runs out of the box. This was always the case before with most motors, but seems as if times have changed.

My thoughts exactly. I would be worried about all the screw holes combining to form a large fracture.

It just seems that way. ;) I know what you mean, though. The city will tell me I need more strength out of a drag strut... and the engineer will calc more nails into it... the same strut that is already seeing the wood splitting apart.

It was a little cold and a little damp by the time I got to the field... oh, and dark. haha
