Looking good! Sorry I have not been on here for while, have been super busy. To answer the question about the mounting guide. I hand cut them and send them by request with the purchase of the motors from ZDZ USA or Aeroworks. Curious, how many gallons have you gone through now?
I have around 5-6 gallons of 32-1 Redline through it (on your suggestion).
@Tavis likes 40-1 Stihl Ultra from the get go, and he has lots of experience with these motors, but I went with your suggestion because you are
www.ZDZUSA.com . haha I'm curious to look at the blow by on the pistons but I don't want to mess with the muffler seals that are working perfectly. No sealant, no locktite, no oil. I just bolted the mufflers down with dry factory bolts and dry stock gaskets... using nordlocks for washers. The seal is perfect after 18 flights. I did that because the ZedDeeZed stock gaskets looked like they're of a special material. They look like they might even have some metal in them. Maybe to transfer heat out from the cylinder to the muffler for cooling even. Oh, I want two spare sets of those if I can setup that order here with you. haha
As for the motor... it was really strong and smooth out of the box with an amazing transition (granted I have been flying tune pipes, haha). I broke in on a original Mejzlik 32-10 prop and the plane flew really well with it and the engine felt like it was having no trouble with the prop but also not ripping it (so I thought that was all good). After a couple of gallons I went to a Falcon 31x12 which almost felt like too much prop for my big draggy plane. But, not too bad. I just took it easy for a couple of more gallons and then it really started pulling hard with that prop. The plane does not fly quite as good as it does with the Mejzlik 32-10, but it XAs better (especially crankshafts and torkanos) and torque rolls easier, too. I always seem to end up back on these Falcon 31-12 props. Anyway, the motor is really really good, I pretty much just do not think about the motor while I'm flying, and that's how I like it!
I did a low torkano and me and Joe were just laughing away, that move really makes me laugh.
And, I was doing a rolling harrier down the runway and thought I was getting pretty low and thought I heard a scuff sound... and I guess I did. haha
