I've decided to start drawing a Samson. I compared the PDF I have to a lot of pictures, and decided that was too short behind the canopy, the canopy was the wrong shape, and the horizontal stab was too short from front to back. I fixed all that in my drawing.

What I'm looking at is a 78 1/2" wingspan, 67 3/4" from cowl to rudder, and a 13 1/2" diameter cowl. That keeps it all at a manageable size for my shop.

I'm still planning on buying the Hostetler Pitts S1-11B plans so I can take a good look at them. I really like that model Pitts.

Good luck and looking forward to it.
But I just have to ask, which are you going by or with, the original by Pitts, the replica by Wolf, or on of the mini's by Wolf and Horvath? By your drawings I'd have to guess Wolf's replica of Pitts Samson.

Have to agree this will be an interesting project to follow. Must say you have your work cut out for you. After you make the drawings will you have. Them lazier cut or by hand. Take your time and enjoy it,
