The forecast yesterday morning when I got up at 5 was pretty rainy looking for most of the day, not to mention foggy. By 7am most of the rain was out of the forecast so I packed up and went out. It turned out to be a pretty good day. Kinda windy at times, but loads of fun was had. I put 4 flights on the Hangar 9 Extra 300X. Man that DA120 is really coming to life.

I did have one odd thing happen. On the third flight, when I went to turn on the ignition, the red LED for the Tech-Aero Ultra IBEC didn't come on. I cycled the kill switch several times and it never came on. Then, as we were standing there starring at it, it came on. I turned the plane off and back on, and the LED came right on. I'm wondering if the receiver had not synced to the transmitter for some reason, and sensing no signal, the IBEC didn't come on. I should have checked the lights on the satellites, but by the time I thought of that, it came on. It ran perfectly. I actually started on the first flip that time.

I think my new starting glove is a keeper. Between last weekend and yesterday, it has started DA120's a total of 14 times between Tony's and my airplanes, and the glove doesn't has a single mark on it. I think this one is going to last awhile.

 

Well hit the jackpot to day not to much wind blue skies and very warm, just a great day to go flying arrived at the field at 8 .30 am and left at 5.45pm used up a gallon of glow and a gallon of gas went home empty. GREAT DAY.

 

Took my 1m dlg out in the front yard this afternoon when the winds died down. No real lift to speak of but was just fun to be out throwing the plane into the air. Getting more consistent and higher launches which feels good as well.

 

Now that "Michael" has stormed through weatherman says FALL weather BE HERE tomorrow!
Can hardly believe it! We had 6 months straight of summer weather down here and I am so sick of it I am having to get psyche eval'd for un-conscientious behavior because things don't seem real . I'm NUTS! for a "Flight of fancy" and need desperate HELP.

At my location we got "sprinkled" and "breezed" like a mild late spring day. Dodged a bullet for sure! People further north inland not so fortunate (Dothan Al) and of course Mexico beach at Port St. Joe had their gutters thoroughly cleaned.

 

Got out this afternoon and put a couple of flights on the Avanti S. The onboard camera seems to do really well with picture quality. Just need to further my education on it on how to make a continuous video and not segments. Hard to understand Chinglish manual. Video audio is out of sync and playback is inverted. Don't know why. Going back to video 101.

 

Nice the camera quality looks good all you have to do is figure it out.

 

The weather here tomorrow looks pretty iffy, so we're taking foamie Jets instead of gassers.
