The stick bangers thread

ChickenBalls

"Cool Guy"
I should have called it the stick movement thread. But stick Banger sounded way cooler.
We got one, and as mule said, we get some colorful language when it happens, gets in trouble, and starts banging. I mean BANGING you can hear it setting in your chair and he's on flight line. We all hollering STOP it, to his credit he has made some serious progress since Fall of last year

Well....If the weather ever breaks I can get some of my "suck huck" for critique! on vid. But damn I going to build a boat!

Not the best vid. What could I have done better to have avoided the plane almost crashing. Should I have neutralized the aileron and stayed off the elevator and just let the wind blow the crap out of it? It was very windy for a smaller plane.

I think it is "not" necessarily the size but how well designed and wing loading. The Edge in the vid is 12 lbs at take off and 75 inch span with slight span reduction from 79.5" (measured). This plane has a very sensitive down elevator and once stalled immediately drops the nose. The Funtana taking off at the end of the vid actually flies better than my edge. I am really believing lighter flies better and not necessarily bigger.

But more bigger and more lighter flies even more better!!! Actually I think there is a fine line where planes get too light and you loose inertia for cool things like spins. Also the power available these days makes a huge difference.

I think it's all in finding the right ratio of weight:wing area:horsepower:way_to_go:.

Good example is @crashflow and his pilot yak. I've seen him fly that thing hundreds of times and this year he had a 120 on the nose and he is doing things with that plane that I've never seen him do!!
