Well today I pulled the Edge out of the shop since I was feeling cramped and got to work on that nasty wrinkled covering..

Didn't get a before pic but this was after working it for about half an hour. Most of this will be covered by the wing so I'm not going to worry about it anymore.

Cut out the vent holes too. Biggest pain in the ass is cutting out the holes and keeping the covering looking NEAT...

Finally, went over the rest of the covering with the iron around the edges/trim and the heat gun LIGHTLY in the middle areas. She's ready to get a whole lot more expensive :oblong::D

I do want to paint the gear black, and will need to do something about the big mono color cowl...

One thing I wish these companies would concentrate on more is......make the painted parts match better, at least within a couple of shades.

Lots of work to the big Yak.

The paint shading actually matches very well, it's just the picture that makes it look off. I'm sure paint also reacts differently to the heat of the engine and sunlight than covering does, so over time they tend to stray off of matching.

As a guy that matches paint for a living, I can say that the green cowl on my Pilot edge is a terrible match to the covering, but I'm waaaaaay to lazy to fix it.;)

What's wrong @pawnshopmike, you won't melt will you? . . . . .:big-grin:
Lol. I just might!

Biggest problem is, my yard is already super soft from previous rain. Add the 8 inches of rain we are in the middle of and it's really a swamp. Guess I could hop in the car and drive around to the back but I've already parked my butt on the couch with a full belly and cold one in hand.
