Discussion Kaos and UltraSport some info.

Has anyone flown both planes. I have had several 60 size UltraSport planes and really enjoyed them good flying plane, no bad habits. I would like to know how they compare.

Same wing, different fuses, so basically the same plane. I’ve flown both but my UltraSport was much heavier. In fact I still have my US somewhere,,,,,,,,

Why do I think the UltraSport had a thicker wing? Every Kaos I seen fly seemed to be a full throttle the whole flight, may have just been to pilot. Had a King Kobra with a piped Rossi 60, rarely used the throttle.

Went to Outer Limits, the wing thickness on both are very close, about 18%.

I thought I read the SUPER kaos and US were the same wing. Another thread I read mentioned the added US fuselage height helped with KE.

My flying buddy that passed away had several dirty birdies I took to the dump. I tried to break the wings in half and could not do it. I'm sure they could have cut down small trees. The Kaos and US I think were derived from the dirty birdy designs.

Yes the Kaos has 18% wing or very close I just measured it. And yes the wing out like looks to be almost the same as the US. Will let you guys know in a short while how it flies compared to a USport as soon as the weather improves.

Had a number of flights on the Kaos like the plane flies true and has good flying characteristics. From memory I believe I prefer the USport, it has much better knife edge handling. Also not a fan of tricycle gear Take off sucks but landings are great Just dump it down and stops on a dime.
Am I correct if said that a DirtyBirdy is in the same category.

I prefer tricycle gear on classic pattern planes. But only if they retract.

It does add a lot of weight and complexity. If I am not mistaken today’s pattern plans have stoped using retracts.

Have to agree they are ugly and extremely expensive. Don’t think I would buy one of those expensive pattern planes but it would be interesting to fly one once to see.
