The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Put together a new fuel jug, can handle another gallon! Not as tipsy as my older can. Been working on my boat motor (Suzuki 140) the last 2-3weeks changing some things that have been bugging me and have no desire to work on it in the winter outside! Other than that we’re all waiting for...

Scale RCM 1/3 Scale Champ Build

That's the kit. The pic he showed me was when he was looking through the owners' documents. He no longer has those unfortunately.

I'll try and see if he has a photo of the drawing. Tried to do some of my own research, I think it's based off the Champion Clamp-on Dorsal Fin Kit 178. If you look up the TCDS on the Champ you'll see in note 4 the required service letters (13/14/15/56) to convert a 7AC champ to another model...

Scale RCM 1/3 Scale Champ Build

My coworker was looking at the full scale champ and saw that with a newer model they made with a bigger engine had this already incorporated into the design. The owner got the drawings from champ and essentially changed his type certificate to the newer model based on this. So makes sense!

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% Piper Cherokee Glass Fuselage Build.

So cool! I keep seeing EFI with DA and GP starting up at commercial drone industry prices. There have been a few others trying to produce a product and some making kits like Ecotrons, INF Inject, Loweheiser. Pretty neat that this will one day be in our model airplanes. I think the midrange is...

Might be worth popping the cylinders off and checking the crank/connecting rods and a carb kit: https://www.amazon.com/ProPart-Carburetor-Diaphragm-Compatible-Husqvarna/dp/B084QFD2D6

Ouch! Yeah it's definitely showing just how much is imported to us. Rules and fees are different per export location. eg: I bought an electric reel on ebay from Japan, and after looking very hard I found out that below $800 is duty free. The catch with Canada is that they flexed and said well we...

A lot of 3D planes just have a wire going through the ball link eye that's glued inside the rudder. That wire is a bit beefy... as a cushion you could insert a 3M screw through the ball link and wire tie a piece of silicone fuel tubing to it and connect the other end to the wire (maybe make a...

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

This last week I flew my 84”TBM on floats and the 120” TBM on bush tires at the beach. My little boy was my side kick both outings. He’s been talking airplanes and asking me to fly them. Completely filling my heart guys.

Got a cute new hitec charger. Didn’t come with any leads. They are XT60 instead of banana plugs which is new to me. Made my own little charge leads with XT60/JST/JR connector combos. Neat little charger, auto detects the batteries when plugged in and you can cycle through the cell voltages and...
