Happy New Year!

Our club had its frosty fingers flyin on New Years Day. Let’s just say for someone in the south it was definitely cold and the fingers were frosty!

I had forgotten all about it when a friend reminded me. I was lazy and didn’t take anything to fly, just drove out to watch the others.

I was fortunate to fly a friend’s Muscle Bipe. This thing was awesome!!!

Took the TA Horizons Stol X out for its maiden flight along with my pocket radio on ELRS. Everything went great. The plane flies quite slow with flaperons, 2S won’t let it 3D much, so might try 3S. I’ve been chasing my kids around the parked car in the driveway with ease to give you an idea.
Radio feels great. Still getting used to the programming. The menu isn’t very intuitive to me so it’ll take some getting used to how it operates.

That plane uses about 250-300 mAh per flight on each of the 2 - 5200mAh main batteries so I guess I could fly 10+ flights before I start to worry.
The ignition battery is 2600(?) mAh.

I was recharging batteries and noticed 1 of the batteries needed more than usual mAh replacement. No worries, I flew a lot last weekend. The other battery wouldn't take a charge. Traced it down to the only wiring connection that didn't have a connector clip (just scotch tape). Today was a good day........

Raining like mad here too. We had the fourth wettest April on record for Juneau. Sun came out for a little bit today before work so I was working on teaching the kiddos how to throw a chuck glider. Told my little boy to run and throw it, so he raaaaannn, then stopped, and threw it. LOL but he did it over and over again and completely filled my heart.
