Acquired a used Pilot Yak a few weeks ago but gave up working on it in my trailer. No room in my basement hobby room and I want to keep it convenient so i did a garage setup today. Rain all day tomorrow so I should have it ready to fly by end of day.

Ok the weather is still terrible cold and raining, and also waiting for the postman to deliver. I had a Aeroworks plane hanging up for many years and it kept staring at me. Like the plane but the wing tube in the fuselage has worn out and the plane is difficult to assemble and disassemble. So I have decided to go from flat or profile fuselage to a normal one. Cut the fuselage off and kept the wings.

Patched up my fuselage where I had previously repaired the balsa from some minor breaks. Also patched up the motor box with some light fiberglass for reinforcement. Next up is a LE seam that popped on the right wing. I’m getting there

Spent some more time moving old Yak components over to the latest one. Rudder and elevator servos are in and adjusted. I’ve got to decide whether to leave the DLE 120 in or swap it for the DA120. At least it’s on canisters……..
