Sport 26cc 78" Pattern Scratch Build

Tony, I did that to one side but it didn't turn out that great and it felt too flimsy. I spent an hour this morning breaking it off and sanding it back down to the cap strip. Two sheets of 6"x24"x1/32 plywood were in my box from a Fancherized Twister that I never built so they're now on the...

Jerry, try making a set of skis with the wheels poking through the ski just enough so that you can still fly off a hard surface with the skis on. some full size skis are retractable so that the ski can be lifted up for landing on hard surfaces but the wheel sticking down a little bit into the...

Sport 26cc 78" Pattern Scratch Build

wondering what you guys would do along the sides. the 1/16" mahogany plywood lines the inside of the fuselage sides from the firewall back to the trailing edge of the wing. i lined the outside of one fuselage side with 1/16" balsa all the way back but it didn't turn out that great so I may...

Sport 26cc 78" Pattern Scratch Build

Worked out the bulkheads and got them made. There is a 50/50 chance this thing is either going to be way nose heavy but we’re moving down the tracks so no turning back now. Have to match drill the fuselage sides befor sheeting the second one and then on to assembly.

So we've got @WMcNabb to thank for this one! He put an engine in the classifieds for FREE! http://www.giantscalenews.com/threads/evolution-26cc-gas-engine-and-accessories.10877/ and of course, being the first to happen upon it, I grabbed it. The plan was to put it in a 1/4 scale Cub that...

Alert! The FAA want's you out of the NAS!!!

i have a close relationship with an FAA employee, they're being pushed in the direction we're going by business interests. the rogue "drone" operators are just making it harder for reasonable people to help us. ask yourself who owns most of the congressmen, lobbyists. lobbyist money comes...

Alert! The FAA want's you out of the NAS!!!

hey guys, for what it's worth, it isn't the government that wants us out of the airspace, after all it's not the FAA that stands to profit from the low altitude airspace that we occupy with our flying clubs. it's the corporations that want us out so they can get in. it's the corporations that...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

FINALLY!! started roughing out a fuselage for a pattern plane using the Evolution 26GX that @WMcNabb gifted to me a while back. It'll be wings and tail from a Super Kaos blown up to 78" and the fuselage is going to be similar to a 3DHS Aspera in profile with a pipe underneath. Plug in wings...

    Sport Restoring A Different Laser

I was a little bummed about the Excalibur, a good challenge is nice once in a while. Maybe next time we're not far from each other you can hand it off to me. Sure, it would be appreciated if you'd put the receiver in the mail for me. I'll PM the address. I didn't built it Earle, that pilot...

Glad you like it Dave. The tachometer in the instrument panel is functional as is the ignition light. It rips with the DLE 61 but it's Dave's plane so he's gonna do what he's gonna do. :way_to_go:
