50cc Slick 540 build issue (help!!!)

Thank you for your email with the pictures. Rest assured we design RedwingRC aircraft to accommodate as many servo-arm combinations available as possible, and we don't think this is a design flaw of the plane, but rather just a slightly incompatible combination of equipment/mounting. It's...

50cc Slick 540 build issue (help!!!)

3d Edge, What I did on a hatch install on the ailerons (and should apply here) is to but a notch our of the CF arm. just mark it where it meets the wood and then cut a rounded notch out at that point to give it a little more clearance. Does this make sense? Or should I attach a drawing?

RedwingRC 50cc Yak-55 with Joe Smith at the sticks!

Thanks for the post! He's loving it too! He told me personally he couldn't belie how stable it was for a yak 55. He thinks it will be a great plane for someone wanting to do 3d and still feel very "safe". Not super high energy but very fun plane. I'm sure he'll give more of a report when...

50cc MSX-R Exhaust tubes to short

Yes you should be able to get some tubing from home depot and use hose clamps to keep them on. You can also solder a little "point" on the tubes to make sure they don't slip off. Let me know if you don't know what I mean

    Redwing RC life battery.

Yep Agreed! I meant to mention that but yes having an noise isolation component is NOT a bad idea! :) I meant to reply that your idea is sound. Some guys will not feel they need it, and some will like the idea

    Redwing RC life battery.

Hi 3DNater I think your concerns are justified, but not always a concern. Here's the thing - of both options you have a couple concerns Option 1) goes with a battery for RX and one for IG. Problems: 2 batteries to remember to charge 2 batteries to fail (if EITHER fails your plane...

    RedwingRC 30cc Segev ARTiculate!

this plane has proven to be a LOT of fun. We are going to try to get some video of it soon. Ido put a lot of design thought into it. If anyone is interested in the plane let us know and we'll be happy to get you more info

    Redwing RC life battery.

Hey Skyraider You should be fine. The only concern is that the JR wire does not deliver as many amps as the Dean wire (typically about 16 g. vs 22g) you may be better getting a DEANS to JR style so you can have 2 leads coming STRAIGHT from the battery. Rather than one that is then split We...

    Redwing RC life battery.

You can use either for charging. The reason we set it up this way is so you can have either output type to your components. Also, having two plugs let's you use a single battery for both RX and IG. Many people these days like to keep it simple in 30cc and even 50cc and do a one battery set up

Which of all the 50cc is most stable

Yep - So I've talked to many guys who have flown and love BOTH the Extra and Slick. the Extra is more capable, and probably a bit more prescise. and for an Extra, VERY stable. However it is not as comfortable as the slick. The slick has it's mass centered around the CG. this gives any plane...

    Wood pieces

we were confused too! They sent them for if you do the hidden servo option to bolster the wood triangle holder. is that the 50cc MXSR?

Which of all the 50cc is most stable

Hey Bushwacker - Our 50cc Slick is VERY widely loved for the reasons you mention. Very SAFE feeling and can do anything you want. The Yak 55 should prove to be also but the Slick has a LOT of pilots that have shared the same feelings for many years now.
