The I'm going out flying thread 2016

This sums it up around here, heck we got an email that our club field has been closed by the Army Corps of Engineers. The lake shore normally is 200 yards away from our runway and now it is 50'.

    Spinner Thoughts

So I understand where you are coming from with the budget. When I was putting together gear for my 91" EF Extra a friend suggest these carbon fiber with aluminum backplate from Hobbyking. I am not a HK fan at all but I pulled the plug on the 4" for mine for $27.89. Hard to believe but I saw...

    Interesting crash view

I would like to know more about what camera model that was as both air "and sea" images were great.

Show us your cowl exit air pics

I did a split cowl so my exhaust openings are just clearence circles, no slots. Actually I kind of like the sound of the Jtec mufflers and actually get compliments so it sounds like we both have the best setup ;) and 4¢ between us

ExtremeFlight RC Factory tour. Video = BAD ASS!

Indeed, I thoroughly enjoyed it having been a long time scratch builder and I visit our Asian factories several times a year up to this point I could just imagine what it was like. Asian factories are very similar. Lots of fixtures and lots of people thrown at the work.

Tail Wheel Steering, Springs vs Fuel Tubing or other setups

I am in the process of making that. I am drawing it in cad so I get the rotation points to not change length or slack on the turn limits. It is going to be aluminum but a little like a "Y" shape so the "Y" end can be right on the hinge line then I am going to use the same ball swivel links...

    Exhaust leak grrr

@ghoffman I was waiting for you to post this. It makes a lot of sense and I sure wish it was provided. I think I am going to do mine line that during the winter off season. Off the top of my head I think a silicone o-ring might be a better heat choice

I was taught that too but seems most politicians were not.

Tail Wheel Steering, Springs vs Fuel Tubing or other setups

Played around with an idea that I seems very strong with parts on hand. I took some extra sets of rudder pull pull swivels and rounded off the sharp edges where the cables go through. This presses in tightly into silicone fuel tube and I pressed in just until it went down to the threaded rod...
