    3D Rebuilding the Compy MX2.

The only problem I had with the 170 was the headers. The plane was designed for a 100 cc sized motor, so there's not a ton of room in the bottom of the cowl for the header drop that the 170 needs. The cylinder that was closer to the prop made the header touch the fiberglass right where it...

The BS that went on at NALL on Friday Night

Hate to ask...... But who is Joe Smith? I hope the ID-10-T wasn't anyone that makes a living in this hobby.

    3D Rebuilding the Compy MX2.

There's plenty of airflow area. I had one with a DA170, and my current one has a 3W 157 CS Twin Spark... neither gets much over 200 degrees with good baffling and airflow. And either motor option yanks this little plane around like its a foamy! And honestly, and I'm a DA fan-boy.. but the 3W...

    3W 220 CS

Nice. I have a 170CS/TS, and I was concerned about heat, but they never get much over 200 in the air... very cool running motor, with just a little bit of baffling on cowl.

    Incredible save from deadly situation!!!

That was the incident that encouraged MX Aviation to leave the Red Bull series, and eventually causes Red Bull to take a rest for a couple of years. Amazing recovery, but what could have happened woke up a lot of folks.

It's about time to ask... What Can We Do Better!

Anyone notice how much right rudder that plane needs on a full throttle takeoff? That's an insane amount of torque!

What the heck does a 3W 684 fit into? Who would like to see that plane?

It's about time to ask... What Can We Do Better!

I agree with all the agreeing... but Sleepy's original post was pretty clear.. you need membership and traffic if you're going to attract advertisers, and at the end of the day, this site is a business. I think the other site started at a place and time when GS was new and growing fast. Today...

    3D Rebuilding the Compy MX2.

These things really do go together fast, once you have all the pieces laid out in front of you. I remember my first composite plane.. it was an Edge from a CARF knock-off company. I stared at it for several days trying to decide whether or not to cut holes in it for switches. Now, you just...

    3W 220 CS

umm...yep, it would. That plane's almost had more engines than it has flights! I need to stick with the radial, but I sure do miss the punch that a big 2-stroke has.
