I saw the price also and figure I can do a WHOLE LOT of messing with carbs to save $2000+ on an engine :)

Hey Rob, 157 or 170 on this bird? Is there any way you can center the fuel tank on the cg? The closer you can get it, the better :-)

Tell me about it! I am hoping to have either the Edge or the LX running before Saturday so I can get some more practice in. The roller at the end of the sequence is killing me! The rest of it is just getting used to multiple items in one maneuver :)

    DA120 idle

1200 in a twin is where I find my happy place :) Less shake and if it goes a little rich it isn't going to die instantly.

Well I worked on the baffling of the Edge some more. The engine sits real high in the cowl so I had to angle the bottom of the inlets to get the air a least midway on the cylinders. Also prototyped a semi-boxed in rear baffling. Any input would be greatly appreciated :-)

Don't look like much but, got the lower piece of baffle cut for the Edge seeing as how the parts for the DLE 170 will be here Tuesday :-) Also got the mounts glued to the cowl. Will be laminating the balsa with 1/32 ply to keep the weight down. Should be able to finish the top half of the...

Older 3W and DA for First 40%er

I have purchased the majority of my engines used. Multiple 3W 106's, 3W 150TOC and GP 176EVO and they have all ran great. Bought a new DLE-170 and luck of the draw, after about 4 gallons of 32 to 1 redline on 91 octane real gas, started having issues with it going lean after the 3rd flight of...

Had to redo the baffling onthe 330LX. 2 of the glue joints let loose after 4 flights so, I pulled the old baffling out and put in new. I did a lot of re-enforcements along the way to prevent flex in the sides and top. Hope this stays together or I will have to build duct work from 1/8th inch ply...
