Ok Dougy, I looked for a F86 biplane and found the same picture you did but no other info. So my question is how did you find it? And why were you looking for it? Inquiring minds Doug. Lol.

Tom may disagree about this but since some thought as well as plans evaluation have taken place this build is officially underway. And I am 8 posts away from being a 60CC Cool Guy.:nodding-yes-by-a-ve

Yep my Stearman I am sort of working on has two piece wings and the bottom wing with dihedral has the wing tube socket angled inside which will be tricky enough even though I have the plans. Redesigning yours with a wing tube would be a pain. In many of the biplanes I have built in the past...

Well now you've done it Tom. The plans are out of the box now. Looking at that is making my head hurt. I don't think it is a 3 piece wing.

I may have been confused about that. It wouldn't be the first time. Lol. If the bottom wing has any dihedral making it a 3 piece may be tricky. I can't remember if the bottom wing is flat or not. Dammitt.

Yep, that is why I was wondering about the 1 or 2 piece wings. That will takes some engineering making it a 3 piece. But I know you are the one that can tackle that task for sure. Isn't there also an arf version of that plane? If so I wonder what they do on that one.

Well my first thought would be to leave the landing gear mounted to the wing and only unbolt the front portion. Since the front of the wing seams to be only attached by dowel this would be just like having 2 additional wing bolts that would attach the front part of the landing gear.

If you remove the plans from the box does that mean that winter has officially started? If so maybe you should leave them in the box a little longer. Lol.

Are those one piece wings or two piece? I'm guessing one. Maybe you can post a picture of the landing gear mounting area from the plans so we can all have a look see.

Well said Jim. I hope there is enough of us there to keep it going. It would be a real shame to loose that site and some how that other place stays up an running.
