Don't forget about Radio Shack, if you still have one around you. I have one in town and they have a ton of heat shrink in all sizes :)

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Are you joining the Purple Brotherhood? There are 3 of us so far with the Crown Royal scheme on our planes. I have the 42%, I believe @stangflyer has the 37% and @49dimes has the 30% airframes.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Flew the Extra last weekend for the first time since I took the gear out a month ago. I added canisters and a 28x9 Falcon cf prop and what a difference! The only issue I have is the low end. I ordered a carb for it because the rod for the butterfly is really sloppy and I believe that there is an...

The uplines would be insane for IMAC :)

Now you have me wanting one, but I think it would be a bit much for the 103" 330SC and for the wallet at this point :)

That sucks. I have had those days, but got lucky enough to catch the reversed servos before I took off. Looks like it will live to fly another day :-)

Yes Rob, I want to play with your engine :) I am sure I can find something to put it on....Extra 330SC that I was just getting ready to test fly until I went to turn the engine over to go to tdc before putting prop on and heard grinding :( Didn't see any dirt in the snorkel, carb or exhaust...

I say run the quad. I would do some extensive run ups on the ground before throwing it in the air just to make sure everything is going to stay in one piece. You say that it feels much better than the original, so I would give it a shot. You have already put all of the time in to get to this...

    Syncronizing/Balancing Multiple Servos

Like @Terryscustom said, make sure the mechanical part is setup before you plug the power in. A little extra time on this step will pay dividends ten fold in the long run :-)

Another late night in the garage, but made major headway on the Extra :-) Had to custom make the tunnel exits due to there not being any when I got the plane. I believe I will have plenty of exit space for hot air.

Finished recovering the Extra except for the tunnel exits. Hoping to button up the bottom side tonight and start replacing the smart-fly with dual regs and rxs.

    Airtronics Users

I almost bought a used 14MZ because of the channel issue. Getting rid of the matchboxes would be nice. Hope they get some data out to see if it will be worth the wait. I love my SD-10G, but more channels would be REALLY nice :)

Mine too, but when you buy them used and a little at a time it doesn't hurt as much :)

Made some progress on the repair/upgrade of the Extra over the weekend. Ready to get some covering on and then on to pulling the smart-fly out and putting the dual rx's, regulators and IM-22 v2 Intellimatch box in place. Had a little gap that I filled with filler rather than trying to cut a...

    Pilot 37% 107" Edge 4 Banger

For a while their tracking got a lot better, but it seems in the last couple of weeks it has went to crap. I am in the same boat Rob. Waiting on throttle cable for the bike and it was shipped from FL two days ago. The USPS site shows that the label has been created, that is it. Maybe I will get...
