    3DHS 103" Extra 330SC Re-Build Log

Well, here she is! Finally together. Just waiting for the weather to clear and warm up a bit.

    Frank Bowman rings low compression

The engine has 9 gallons of fuel through it :) probably close to 15 to 17 hours of run time. The engine is about 5 years old. A standard 106ib2. The cylinders still had a very small amount of cross hatch in places other than that they were perfect. Pistons had some carbon build up on the tops...

    Frank Bowman rings low compression

The ring gap was spot on. The reason I put the rings in was because the engine just didn't seem to have the power I thought it should. Yes the compression was enough for it to run, but just didn't seem like it was all there. The engine has about 9 gallons through it and I was putting the...

    Frank Bowman rings low compression

Hey everyone, Just installed Frank's rings in my 3w 106. Was flipping it over last night and noticed that there is very low compression. I haven't ran the engine yet. The cylinders were immaculate and the original rings had good compression. I am wondering if I just need to fire it up and let...

    3DHS 103" Extra 330SC Re-Build Log

Making major headway the last couple of nights. Finally got the servos matched in the wings. They are now done. Finished the elevators and rudder tonight along with mounting the engine. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it is getting brighter FAST :-)

    Real Flight 7.5...

Wish I could have made it, but I was still fighting with servos on the 103 Extra. Finally said to heck with it and put the Smart-fly EQ6 back in and 30 minutes later all was well. To bad I wasted about 10 hours trying to make something else work.

    How many servos?

Never thought about that. Seems like it would be a bigger nightmare getting both sections to work in unison when you wanted it to work as an aileron and not flaps/ailerons.

    How many servos?

They are HUGE there is no doubt about it :)

    How many servos?

Quick question. On a 103" 3DHS Extra 330SC, can I get away with 1 7955TG in the wing for flying IMAC? I am having one heck of a time getting the 2 servos matched and just realized that there is a center slot for a single servo. If I was to run 1 7955tg at 6 volts, would this be enough? I am...

    We're Doing Something Right!

I had to look after people were commenting on the change over there and it is nasty! That don't matter anymore. I am where the good people are and plan to stay for a very long time, unless you don't like me anymore, then I will leave :) Great job @SleepyC & @Bartman !

    Redundant Receiver Installation

@Pistolera I have my two rudder servos split between my rx's. That way if one does fail I will have at least half of my rudder throw to work with. I am using the SWB servo tray, not a direct connection between the servos.

    Redundant Receiver Installation

The only thing different is I use Li-ion batteries. 2 5200's and a 2600 for the ignition.
