    The Elevator

Description of the maneuver An Elevator simply means that the plane is put in a straight and level attitude without any forward speed and allowed to slowly lose altitude. The Elevator is arguably one of the easiest 3D manuevuers to perform. However, it is an important one, since it introduces...

Wait a minute? You're going to Dubai as guests of the Royal Family to fly with the Prince? That's just off the scale cool!

    The Knife Edge

Description Flying knife-edge (often abbreviated KE) means flying the plane with the wings in a vertical orientation. The wings do not generate any lift in the configuration, so the fuselage acts as a lifting surface. Generous amounts of rudder are usually needed to keep the plane from losing...

Thanks! Yeah... The joy of 5-year-old twins. :) A 3D EPP Foamie flies a bit different from a T-28, yes... :) Keep the rates low and the CG a bit forward for now. Then dial in insane 3D rates, move the CG back a bit and have some serious fun! I'm not a very good 3D pilot, but the ExtraSlick...

    The Hover

Description of the maneuver A hover is performed by putting the plane at exactly 90 degrees angle of attack so that the nose points straight up. Just enough throttle is applied to keep the plane at a steady altitude. Good pilots will make the maneuver look easy, but since fixed-wing airframes...

Be careful if it's windy and don't set the CG too far back. Other than that, toss it in the air and have fun! Good luck!

    The Harrier

Description of the maneuver A harrier can be seen as the most basic post-stall 3D maneuver and simply means that the plane is flown with an angle of attack that is high enough to completely stall the main wings. The result is a very slow flight with the nose pointing 30-45 degrees upward. This...

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

Between storms, work, travel and now another piece of cr&p storm coming in, I've lost my mojo for RC a bit. I don't even dream about it at night anymore. So tell me something good, please!

Fix for HK Slick 360 Wing Rock

Wow! Quite a difference! I have to ask the question on everyone's mind: How does it compare to the AJ? Obviously, it seems easier to just buy the AJ, but your work is really interesting nonetheless!

And now I got power back!!! I wouldn't mind at all if I never had to experience this cr*p again! My thoughts and prayers to those who weren't as fortunate as I was.

Checking in... I just spoke to Gyro who was nice enough to check if I was doing OK. I live a bit inland, so we didn't get any flooding, but the wind hit us pretty hard. I think I have 10 trees down on my property alone. The power is out, obviously, and it looks like the grid is pretty messed...

Fix for HK Slick 360 Wing Rock

Well, the biggest problem was the flimsy pushrods and I fixed that by sliding a thin CF tube over them and securing it with CA. Very rigid and nice!

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

No, but I'm a computer nerd for a living, so I have my own little lab in the basement. But rest assured, the 3RDCF servers are safe from the hurricane. We use a 3rd party commercial hosting provider.

    Is lighter always better?

Joe, I was flying with my dear friend AeroHeadTW yesterday and he's usually flying his 48" Edge on 3s. Yesterday he tried some of my 4s 2200mAh in it and it obviously made a big difference for the high energy stuff. What he also noticed, which is a bit more interesting, is that he felt the...

    DX8 or not?

When I got into this wonderful hobby, I found a used old school DX7 on Wattflyer that I've been using since then. Not that I have a lot to compare it to, but it's been working great for me. However, I starting to think I should upgrade to something a bit more advanced. The question is whether...
