    84" Bigfoot

Did some more flying with it today. I could not get it to stall with the lighter weight. It must be over a pound out of it with the Kavans replacing the Dubros and went from 2450 bats to 1300s. Also got a little more comfy with slow flight with mid flaps. Lights work well now and are on a...

    60" Laser-EXP

Yep 6S. I have a torque V2 I got a good deal on. I know the Glacier's are good. I will get stuff ordered next week and see what is in stock. My credit card is smoking after the big order I put in at EF. Have to order when they are in stock, especially on the 78 Extras I have noticed. I was...

    60" Laser-EXP

Ordered 2 of them. One is for FLI Fort Smith and will be for sale at the end of the event if it survives my flying. I am flying to the event and shipping it to my dad. I think I all I need are batteries.

    10cc 3D gasser --- An exercise with a VH Sabre-X 51" and a Evolution 10GX

I am closing the book on this particular airframe. I wrote some stuff in the end of project review on the first page, which I might add to later when I think of other facts to add and ideas. The overall weight of the plane needs to come down, or I need to find something with more wing area...

    Small Gas 3D

You can see from my avatar the size comparison to other 30cc fuses. It is not much smaller than any of them, just with a thinner fuse and the wings have less chord. My 22cc Velox is just over 9lbs and I think it needs more power. It has about 14 lbs of thrust and that works out to a little...

    78'' Extra

The laminated props are only a few dollars more. No where near the cost of the carbon. You can try my Mej 20x8.

That is like the boy who cried wolf. DA's time estimates for release are as optimistic as Obama Care.

I got to fly Patrick's EME60 the same day. It was very nice and the most fun I had the whole day as I was breaking in both the PTE and the 15cc. The EME is a lighter setup for sure. I just like the low end torque of the twin for my style of flying.

I was bored to tears doing the break in flights. Nothing special so far as I was not pushing the motor at all. Also I was running the 20:1 gas I had on hand for the 15cc. Truck is getting some TLC this week so probably won't be till next weekend till I can get it out again. Lots of other...

I flew my 88 Edge on the PTE-72 yesterday for a few break in flights. Got a little fun in at the end and managed to break the rudder servo arm with a tail touch. Already fixed. Ground tested a few props today trying to make the sound requirements which it did not. Too much exhaust noise. If...

    15cc EF 60" Edge 540T-EXP Gasser

Got the maiden done today. There is video I will have to upload at some point. Turns out I need to work on improving the fuel system as it is not getting enough pressure and does not pull very well out of a hover. Some tweaks and I think it will be ok. The CG was a bit on the nose heavy side...

    84" Bigfoot

Got a little more time on it today. Got more comfy with full flap decents. Flipped it over once with no damage on roll out. Put it in a small elevator to flap mix to to help on landings. I was just figuring out that putting flaps up on roll out help stop it faster as it dumps the lift in the...

I found out about the stuff flying in general aviation. Corrosion and salt air is a big problem in Florida and coastal areas.

Fort Smith Arkansas Fly Low In Sept. 19-22

Yep. It has a outdoor grill for some food action and dad will play host. He is not really into RC, but loves aviation. Sparing me lugging the tripod would be huge. He has a Hobbyzone Super Cub at his house (for the family), but I am not sure that will fit in for this event. Somewhere I have...

    15cc EF 60" Edge 540T-EXP Gasser

Build log updated. I had to hack up the cowl a lot to get it to fit on the bottom and it will need some reinforcement before I can fly with it on. Luckily with the solid firewall I am not worried about flying it without it. I did a initial tank of fuel in the front yard. The spark plug was...

Fort Smith Arkansas Fly Low In Sept. 19-22

We are committed. Gyro is staying with us. Please mark us out a spot as dad was concerned about having a solid enough spot for the rig. Time to work on what I am going to ship to have something to fly. This will be mainly a hang out and do some video and photography trip as I live too far to...

    84" Bigfoot

All joking aside, this airplane will fly for over 30 minutes on a 16oz tank. You are not hammering the throttle as much. We never put more than a quarter back into it on Sunday.
