    Small Gas 3D

I tend to think of planes more in weight class than wingspan. A 60" electric will be in the 5-6 pound range. The 71" slick on gas is over 11 lbs. My 70" velox gasser is 9 lbs. The H9 katana was 8 IIRC. If you want the DLE-20 class plane to be ballistic you have to get into the 7lb range and you...

    Small Gas 3D

Have you considered this plane? Since it is setup for the 15cc it will probably be a lot easier to modify for the 20. Just have to hog out the firewall to get the carb to fit. I did the H9 katana with a 20cc. Not fully 3D, but a good sport flyer...

    15cc EF 60" Edge 540T-EXP Gasser

I have my H9 katana setup for a 20cc motor. It came out somewhat heavy and did not have the tail authority I like. It is in the attic.

    84" Bigfoot

I found this out because Gary asked to see how it elevators. I went up, pulled the throttle and started to hold up elevator. It stalled hard and rolled 90 degrees. It was a bit towards the sun at that moment and it had to roll it to reestablish orientation. It's stall tendency makes as lot of...

    84" Bigfoot

Maidened mine today. Flew at first with the 6" Dubros which made is very nose heavy. Got the flaps somewhat dialed in. After a few flights we switched them for 5" Kavan balloon tires and it made it a lot lighter and less nosy heavy. It does not look as cool though. By end of the day the...

    74" Edge 540

I was hoping to finish up a few RC projects today, but instead I went to work for OT on a day off to pay for household repairs. Being an adult has it's downsides.

    84" Bigfoot

I am going to guess you need to mount it inverted underneath in front of the can tunnel. You can hog out the servo box to fit a standard servo I believe. If not Jtec sells them.

    78'' Extra

The only way to get ballistic power in this size is probably electric. I think the 40 twin is as good as I have had in this size in a gas powerplant. The piped motors will have more power, but they will have to spool up to get it.

    3DHS 70" Velox

I am getting my old 4325-310 back. I am getting it rewound. I see people using different winds for 6s. 380, 400, or 425?

    78'' Extra

It is already in the trash can. The entire fuse is shattered. Non repairable. It would need a new fuse, canopy, and cowl, and at that point you might as well get a new kit. I really like this airframe. Probably another one will be in my future. The electronics are slated for a 78 with the...

    84" Bigfoot

My Funcub flexes too much in hard maneuvers. I tried it on 4s and it was not possible to fly in a straight line. Foamfoot with the balsa and CF should yield a better experience. Hopefully the Funcub floats will fit on it.

    84" Bigfoot

I fly my funcub when I am jonesin for some bush fun. I put it back on floats as that is a ton of fun if you have a site for that sort of thing. Looks like mine will be up for the weekend. My buddy ordered some cheap LED bulbs for the landing lights.

Did they just raise the price $40 to $789? I thought it was $749 and the points say 750 points.

Looks like my dad is getting excited about bringing the RV for this event. I just want to make sure there is room for a 37' Winnebago.

My job keeps me on the road so I don't get that evening shop time. I also have my 15cc project going on so this would have just sat if my friend did not offer to help. This should be a fun RC week with three projects coming to fruition.

    15cc EF 60" Edge 540T-EXP Gasser

I flew all weekend and by the time I got home yesterday I was pretty tired. I did get a lot done this week on this project though. All the parts arrived and I got all the hinging done and main servos installed. Need to do the throttle servo and linkage, radio install, and figure out the battery...

    84" Bigfoot

My buddy Patrick is assembling mine as I have to work all week. I got the free dubros, but they are very heavy. I ordered some sets of the 5" Kavan's. Patrick is going to radio shack to see what he can come up with for LEDs for the wing lights. Looks like stock Hitec arms are all that you need...

    Twisted Hobbys 32" Crack Laser!

I don't have gear on any of my cracks except the mini as it is a pure indoor plane. If you see the abuse my Shelties put on them you would understand why. I only fly over grass.
