3DHS 75" EDGE 540 V2 Assembly Thread

You need tighter springs. The best steering response and deflections I had was with my 2" tailwheel bracket design. I should dig that one up and post it - It just didn't work for the beaches I was flying off of. I learned that a loose spring will null your control inputs. My current design...- AKNick

Nice flight report! Bravo! Glad it works for you! FWIW the ball links below the top plate gave me a little better breaking torque. Those leaf springs move back and forth on each other, I foresee that tape giving up eventually. Also the flex in the aluminum will probably pop them off as well...- AKNick

GP-38 cc
On my GP76 I'm using a HV IBEC unregulated, so it's self regulated to 8V. I tried the tech aero with a 6.6v battery unregulated and it just showed what the input voltage was... so rest assured if it dips lower than 8V as the regulators just keep the it from over voltage.. Neat plane - No Doubt. The LE devices move with the flaps from what I could see - they are not fixed. Usually the inlet to outlet is 1:2 on LE devices. Their main purpose is to allow a higher angle of attack at stalled speeds. I'm curious to see how they work in the Shock Cub when flying. Other...- AKNick

I think there is a lot of variables involved with gaping - voltage being a big one, but timing, octane, and compression all play a role. I played with the gap on my DLE35 one time, and I liked it at 0.019" and it stuck with me.- AKNick

Discussion I believe that Toledo has been cancelled.
The Weak Signals R/C Club has announced that the Toledo Show has Ended INDEFINITELY as the "End of an Era" through an e-mail to it's contributor who posted it on social media. It's not on the website yet, but it's apparently true. How sad!- AKNick

How much slop are we talking about here? 8mm and 5/16" are pretty darn close to the same thing. for my 1/4" bolt I cut the head off as well but was able to use bronze bushings to bring the OD up to 5/16" and hysold them to the bolt to create a step down axle of sorts. I went through their customer photos of the wire tail wheel installed on some 50cc planes, and I like it. Ordered up a J&J traditional wire version last night. Hoping to try out the silicone tubing method instead of springs.- AKNick

Looking at your picture. I have a little advice unless you've already changed it up. You need some more cowl exit air behind the muffler, otherwise you cowl is going to insulate the heat and overheat your engine and possibly make tuning your carb nightmare with hotter than ambient air.
