The I'm going out flying thread 2016

It was nice here today, and plenty calm in the morning, but I had to go into work. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 69, but of course the wind is supposed to be 20 to 30!

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I also colored another yest scheme. I like it, but I think I like the yellow more. I forgot to take it to work and scan it so I just took a picture of it. It didn't work that great, but you get the idea.

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I finished getting the second wing ready to cover. All that I need to do now before I cover is put a hard point in the bottom of the rudder for the tail wheel steering. That and clean my workshop. It should have crime scene tape on the doorway since it looks like a bomb went off inside.;)

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I can't let you Ford guys have all the fun. My 69 Cutlass with a Chevrolet 454 on it's first run with the exhaust on it. None of the bodywork is done in this video, it's just been stripped and Epoxy primed. The bumper was just on it to fit the exhaust.

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

And yet you still like Fords? :lol2: Sorry man I couldn't resist. I'm old, so I remember the time before Fox bodies where if you wanted your Ford to be fast you better have a giant wallet. In the street racing scene around here in the late 70's and early 80's there weren't many Ford's. The Fox...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I was never good at taking pictures of my cars. I have a few, but not very many.

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I've restored a bunch of Mustangs over the years, but I'm a GM man myself. I've had probably a dozen early Camaros and various Monte Carlos, Chevelles, Corvettes and Trans Ams. All pre 72 cars with the exception of the Trans Ams. They were 77, 78 a 79, and one of my favorites I ever owned a 70...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I've been working on getting the second wing ready to cover. I've got the aileron gaps squared away and I'm working on filling and sanding to get the surface nice and smooth. My phone is doing some weird things with pictures but here is what I have.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Looks a lot like the old 120 four stroke one that I have hanging from the ceiling in my garage that has been there for over 15 years. I always liked the look of those airplanes.

Those things are so cool! Hard to believe one of the engines they used, the Wright R-975 was also in an early Sherman tank.

    Stabilizer Design Discussion.

A Bob Violett Shrike pattern plane from back in the early 70 had a flying stab. It used “The Violett Flying Fork” for control.
