I can’t decide for you! After running two 6S batteries in my 75” edge and 4-4.5min flight times on whimsy 3300 batteries I decided I’ll stick with gasoline on the bigger birds. Flight time is my #1 winning argument. However, since nose weight is encouraged, you can support larger batteries...

Finally put my elevator servos in place. Be sure to wick some CA in there before you do this. I need to figure out what I’m going to do for a receiver and batteries so I can make extension leads the right length.

I didn’t like how the cabin structure was poorly fitted. So I added a little extra support brace

Made an ignition shelf in the canister tunnel. Used welders glue to attach foam to the Velcro and shelf. It’s not going to wander anywhere now.

LOL, I was drinking a pretty darn good cup of coffee, all my brain waves are synced when that happens  So you've got this! Don't worry when you said steel I thought you were right until I visualized drilling the last two... and I may have looked it up.. Now that we are both on track...

After grinding the spinner to accommodate the propeller, I carefully put my backplate, and pre-drilled (by me) prop on the engine for alignment and then used a drill bit to transfer the hole locations to the back plate. Then used a pilot hole, followed by the actual bit size - I double checked...

Kinda neat if your going electric. I think. The supplied engine block moves a bit and you epoxy it in place. I haven’t seen this before and moves about 5/8” Which reminds me. The total standoff length for the DLE55RA needs of be at least 2.93” or about 75mm. My extensions for the DLE55RA are...

Kinda cool that they included a thin plywood plate to block the tunnel with. I could make a hole with a grommet for the ignition lead in it.

Ignition module mounting ideas?? I try very hard to separate the module from everything else, it will not fit on the engine box sides and top, only the bottom. But the routing of the ignition lead is tricky. I’m kinda liking the idea of in the tunnel. Make a little mount in there and call it...

Worked on my throttle servo setup. Have some 2-56x2-56 DuBro ball links on order. Didn’t realize I ran out!! Used the supplied servo mount and epoxied it there. Note I got a throttle arm extension on the carb from VVRC ProModeler DS305CLHV servo.

Not a bad idea Mike. That would keep it from twisting side to side, I could easily 3D print something like that. I’m running out of room in the fuse if I use the long skinny bottle though... :(

Work has been hindering my timber build... You'd think it would be easy to find a 17oz Fiji bottle around here.... nope. After my third store I finally found one for my PSP cap. I also found a round 20oz bottle... Got me thinkin... How does one keep a round tank from rotating? Velcro?

You bet! Anytime! The touch screen will spoil you. I'm still trying to understand conditions. There is a lot the radio can do than I am aware of.

Nice plane! I'm running an 18SZ right now, let me know if you have any questions - I MIGHT be able to answer them :) Looks like a little EF Yak you got there? The technology is pretty awesome now and just keeps getting better and lighter. I also have RF8, It's a great tool and if you get the...
