Sport JTEC RADIOWAVE 26% Pitts Model 12

Well dang, second wing took all of an hour to complete. We now have two flyable wings. Do I really need the top wings? It's back to the weekly grind tomorrow. I hope to have enough "oomph" left when I get home. I would really like to get the two top wing control horns epoxied in and...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Wish I could see ya in the trenches. As it stands, I'm stuck in the drifts. Of snow that is.

Sport JTEC RADIOWAVE 26% Pitts Model 12

Hey everyone. Sorry I've not updated the Pitts thread for a few days. Still more snow than what we need but at least it's let up enough we can work again. So my time has been somewhat limited. I finally got the aileron servos installed and pretty much tuned in. Final tuning will be done after...

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

If I may offer a suggestion? The 7950's on the rudder will be awesome. But truthfully you won't need anything more than the 7954's throughout. I ran all 54's on my Pilot Edge and that plane was wicked responsive and ultra stable. Insanely stupid knife edge spins, solid and powerful knife edge...

INVERSA 33 ARF assembly by Hanger 9. Motor OS-GT33

Ah heck... you can do it. You'll do great!

INVERSA 33 ARF assembly by Hanger 9. Motor OS-GT33

Sort of... but no need to use 1/4". Just cut yourself a piece of 1/16" or 3/32" lite ply the width of the inside of your motor box. Heck you could even use Balsa as it will be painted with thinned epoxy. You don't need the dam for strength, just to block the carburetor spitting. Make sure it...

INVERSA 33 ARF assembly by Hanger 9. Motor OS-GT33

If you don't want to make a little box...which that one is very cool @Jetpainter, you can just put a lite ply plate behind the carb. Your carb spray will be stopped by the damn.

INVERSA 33 ARF assembly by Hanger 9. Motor OS-GT33

It's looking real good. You did an awesome recovery on the firewall. As for inside, many are using a "damn" just after of your carb intake. From motor box side to motor box side. Seal it with thinned epoxy and paint it on. Let it cure...and there ya go.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Probably one of the best setups I have seen so far with the 180. Good for you Mark. That is awesome.

Scale 25% Krier Kraft build, a tribute to grampa.

Hey that cowl looks very nice. Just the right fit. Just don't take too long getting back to this build. Course, if you wanna....ya could always add to this thread with the work you're going to do on the Extra. (Just sayin'!)

INVERSA 33 ARF assembly by Hanger 9. Motor OS-GT33

Not sure I would've done it that way, but a little too late now. Typically if I have to shorten (move back) the firewall, I will free the motor box sides from the firewall and that way I have plenty to work with. You won't be using the motor box sides, top and bottom where the firewall...

Sport JTEC RADIOWAVE 26% Pitts Model 12

Thank you everyone for your input and suggestions. Although they may be ok, I really just don't feel comfortable with the HD arms. I've just got way too much vested into this build to be taking any kind of risks. Even the smallest is too large to me. I'm going to use aluminum arms.

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

I was to the understanding it was Seth Arnold working in conjunction with Mike? An actual collaboration headed up by Ali? Maybe I misunderstood. Either way, it's a really cool plane and was very interested in getting one. I would hope if I did, it would not have the issues yours has. Especially...

Sport JTEC RADIOWAVE 26% Pitts Model 12

:laughing:Don't count it out. As of yesterday, there was still a foot of snow on the runway and all areas of the field. If conditions were perfect....who knows? Hee hee

    3D MOJO 65 w/20cc Build

That is pretty slick on the servo mount. I wish the Pitts had something similar to that. You're making some pretty good progress on that.:yesss:

Sport JTEC RADIOWAVE 26% Pitts Model 12

I got around to starting the servo install on the Pitts today. Really not a lot to include here as most servo installs are pretty straight forward. I also got the control horns epoxied into the rudder and measured the length of control rod I will need for it. Due to the angle of the photo, it...

Scale Top Flite P-40 Build Thread

Holy cow that thing is simply beautiful. Makes me want to get back into warbirds again. My very first fighter was a Top Flite P-40 Red Box. I built and flew it in '94. I sure miss that plane. Awesome job...really love it.
