That's no good. Sorry to hear this. Almost sounds like it's drastically tail heavy being extremely pitch sensitive. My 15cc carbon cub manual CG was off (they made a amendment to it later), I took off, everything seemed great, pulled the stick and it was all over the place. Took everything I had...

    Glassing and Painting techniques

Just spent the evening reading through the last 38 pages/376posts of this thread. Very informative and educational! I was about the start a new thread until I found this gem. Sounds like I am going to invest in some West System supplies after reading this, and a few other things. I've got some...

Scale 1/3 Scale Extra 330L Build.

Ha! no I didn't! My rc pal that passed away this spring could fly mode 1+2, his son can as well. I do not know how they do it! (And well I might add).

It's basically a hardcore slip. very fast rate of decent in high alpha KE from high like jetpainter said, recover as close to the ground without breaking your plane. Edit: hard to find a good video. I found this online 2:28-38 mark encapsulates the general idea.

Discussion How I prep for smoke!

This is a Mad Dog nozzle with a powerbox smoke pump on a DLE35RA. I would like to preheat because of the oily mess the current setup has. Had a coworker goober some more metal onto the thin muffler. It’s been holding up well. Sullivan skysmoke

Decided it was time. DA-35. Walbro D20-WAT gasket kit. Cleaned the needles, screen, and plunger. Replaced the pulse line. Saw one of four reeds was floating a little high, so I flipped it around. Should be good to go!

I’m going out flying thread 2019

Question. Is it me or is it more difficult to do a knife edge wall with this airframe. I can do it super easy with an Edge 540, but for some reason my 73" laser is more temperamental, meaning it will roll out unless the airspeed, attitude, and deflection is more precise. Are you finding this to...

One thing I noticed in an 8oz tank is that tygon is not flexible enough with the short length of fuel tubing inside the tank. I used Viton and still wasn't that impressed and ended up using the ZF-4 instead. Not a problem with my 14-16oz tanks... unless you forget to change your stiff tygon out...

    Optical Kill Switch as On/Off?

This reminds me of my 3DP project I never really finished. The way I held it down was okay, but could be better. The Velcro doesn’t feel that taught to me. I’ve been thinking of making another version that uses a gel/foam bottom and a screw down top like I did with my receiver. The bottom...

Discussion How I prep for smoke!

Nicely done, and thanks for posting. I've wondered if anyone had tried brazing the copper pipe onto the exhaust for a more permanent installation, considering the metallurgy of stainless, aluminum, and copper, I don't know if it's possible. I've tried wrapping copper tube in a small radius and...

    Radio brand

I looked into the Horus X10S for a while, Great price, Great following, lots of versatility. If a guy wanted to invest in a bullet proof Tx at an affordable price, I would suggest FrySky. Once again, for me it came down to what I thought were lesser ergonomics and lack of a touch screen. But...

I've been using eBay. Lots of impostors.... make sure they are genuine zama, not comparable to, or like, Stens are very similar... but the design is a little bit different. I'll buy ones that have a picture in the bag like I had shown in the picture. ZF-2 are about $5 shipped ZF-4 are about $10...

Some of you may remember my extensive research to find the same plastic felt clunk as in the fortitude fuel tanks... I determined ZAMA made in the USA as the right brand. They supply clunks for STHL and other companies. The cheaper ones off amazon and eBay what I purslchased turned out to be...

All wise words. I've got three different bottles of blue locktite so dont worry about that, and luckily I can hand start this motor with ease. Been marking spinner locations for years... even full scale. Thanks, I'll gobble up any tip I can get! Nothing like drilling and grinding on a...

    Radio brand

Aside from brand wars, most people would say fly what feels best in your hands and delivers the capabilities, support, and price point your are willing to invest in. Spectrum debatibly offers the most support in the US, I personally dont like the feel as much as my Futaba. Jeti has a great...

Got my new falcon spinner in! To my surprise it is 16grams lighter. Thats over a 25% weight savings. 10grams are the center bolt alone. Carbon Center bolt spinner 49grams Falcon spinner 33grams. We will see how well she holds up. Surprised I had to trim for the falcon prop to fit a falcon...
