    3D Restoring The Yak

Trust me...video of said shenanigan will be taken upon spring flights.

    3D Restoring The Yak

Thanks Kelly. Not terribly difficult. First cut the "arch" that will overlap the canopy, in the same arc as the front lip of the canopy. Next, lay the arch of the covering on top of the lip giving yourself at least an eighth of an inch overlap. Use your "trim" tool on low heat starting in the...

    3D Restoring The Yak

It grew when it learned it was getting the upgrade from a 170cs twin to a 212cs Quatro.

    3D Restoring The Yak

I'm now absolutely positive I want to cover another Pilot canopy / hatch, NEVER! Although it came out good, I now have a massive migraine. Lol. I also added a "selfie" bling to the cockpit panel. So my friends, I'm just too anxious to wait. How about a couple of teasers? From what it was...

Looks great! Looking forward to the re-maiden!

    Aerobeez "BANSHEE" 91" Slick build

Hey Tanner... I just really like that scheme. Other than needing to do a little covering shrinking... (which is normal for a new plane) does it seem the covering is a good fit? Quality speaking...Ultracote or Monokote?

    Pilot RC 122" Extra 330SC

Well, I would be honored to hang it in my plane room.:big_yes: Sure want to. It's that four letter word that holds me back. Ugh!! Work! Me too.:way_to_go:

    3D Restoring The Yak

I've always said Kelly, that coming out of the corner or even out of the box for that matter...is so much better than coming outta the closet. How'd you know I had the cowl on my head? I wanted to get a "notion" of how all that caged "red headed" heat was going to feel. Ah yes... four red...

    3D Restoring The Yak

Ok here we go. Belly vents are repaired and covered. I've decided to not open each vent hole until I know what I'm doing with baffling on the 4 cylinder 3 dub. I may not have to open them all. But at least they cleaned up ok. I burnt the midnight oil last night. 8 hours oh clean up, rebuild and...

    3D Restoring The Yak

I stand corrected. The axles are most definitely White Rose. As is the tail gear. Just received the new replacement tail wheel from Vern in the mail today. So I can only assume the mains are also White Rose as you indicated Randy. Thanks for getting me straight!:way_to_go:

Now that you mention, you're more than likely correct. If memory serves, Airman stamps their name in the side of the wheel...right? As I remember, the Hemple had Airmans. They were stamped. These wheels are not stamped. So you could be correct. Now you have me curious.

Thanks... it's coming along slowly. But making progress. The wheels are Airman. Pretty cool design I think.

    3D Restoring The Yak

I've gotten a little work done on the Yak today. For the first time since I covered the fuse, I've gotten a chance to see the canister tunnel since I painted it prior to covering. I was actually pretty happy to see the paint set up rather nicely. I decided to put a light coat inside to help...
