Your Opinion-This is not a "Which radio is best" thread!!!

I have played with one and you are ESTA' CORRECTO! But I cant justify $3k for any of them. I forked out the 1200 when the 9z first showed up and was going to on a 14mz at 2k. Then it dawned on me!?!?!? How much radio do I really need to do what I do and do it with rock solid connection and...

    EME70 Twin

Here are your "popular choices" for 70 class twins. 1) Newest 3w 70 twin-$1245 engine and ignition only. (This is Classic series) 2) DA70 twin - $749 engine and ignition only 3) EME 70 twin- $459 engine, ignition, muffler and electric start ready. Personally IMHO the best deal is a toss up...

Your Opinion-This is not a "Which radio is best" thread!!!

"Staying Connected" Feel is the bottom line. So much diversity and choices! So much "now" and way to much being "outdated" by the time you get it in your hands. I look at as...." If your going to be unhappy why not stay unhappy with the choice you made!lol

Great Planes Matt Chapman Eagle 580

Had the first one with the paint blobs and dual wing tube locations. Was a bit of a tank with an original DA 100. To bad the 120 was not available when I had it. It did well though. Solid hover machine but watch the elevator when harrier inverted or upright. It likes to snap just like a CAP. H-9...

    3D H9 1/3 Cap 232 - Blast from the past!!!

Yea! After the crash!lol But no not really. Tapped them to 4-40 and they always held for me. I had about 40 flights on it.

    3D H9 1/3 Cap 232 - Blast from the past!!!

I had one with a 3W-85B2. Built a canister tunnel in to it for the MTW cans and Johnson headers. Menz 27x10 prop. Same performance as the" brand new" DA 100 back then. It was 26 lbs 10oz. One of the best flying Caps ever. Futaba guidance (9ZAP) JR 8311's all around. Lost it to a suspect receiver...

    DA 120 with onboard Tach.

I said I was going to keep it plane clothes but Alky6 opened the door! Thanks for the nice complement Rob. And all said.... I do like them toy airplanes! And Search Engines.....And Engines....And Trains.....And things that go around and around.LOL

    DA 120 with onboard Tach.

@Alky6 In a nut shell the "Hall Effect" of a semiconductor needs voltage to "clamp" "shunt" harmonic transients "noise"that get generated by varying rpms sensed through the rotating magnet on the prop hub. The semiconductors used in our RC applications is merely an on or off device activated...

    DA 120 with onboard Tach.

Hey Rob, In all honesty you could run an Rcexl ignition that has the tach connection built in. 3Dub did it years ago when they introduced MC (micro processor controll) ignitions to their line. One thing on these DA ignitions, other than they can wear your arm out, is that their advance curve...

    FASST and FASSTest

That is what I will eventually do as well. Hate having to give up rock solid receivers for telemetry. On the bright side though.....Each servo can be fine tuned to wing and stab configurations, rudder configurations which is really nice. Thanks for the feed back guys.

    DA 120 with onboard Tach.

@Judge just informed me that it's no go using a R7008SB as a telemetry module stand alone. Futaba made this a Super Bust. After market module ground display here I come!

    FASST and FASSTest

Thanks for the Info. I will probably use an after market type telemetry module and telemetry ground receiver/display then until I can decide to sell off my 5 6014 receivers for 7008's. I am not going to say publicly how I feel about my beloved Futaba right now.

    DA 120 with onboard Tach.

Ah!! Have a bit of electronic experience do we? Shunt's the word! Good on you! The DA 100 Like the 120 has pre drilled and tapped holes for 4-40x.25" screws so mounting is a non issue. I have been lazy and will post some pics of my set up. I run a 2s 2200mah li-po in to a Smart fly dual...

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra 300

@orthobird I know you have been anxious about the cooling temps the duct work provides but sad to say numbers through telemetry will be postponed even longer until I can get my new radio (Futaba 14sg) back. Here are some pics I just took showing how clean and new looking the engine still is...

    FASST and FASSTest

OK it is going back. I have a question however....Operating the 14sg in multi channel mode for use with the R6014HS receiver will the transmitter still receive and display telemetry information from a R7008SB receiver being used as a stand alone telemetry module to plug only temp and rpm sensors...

    DA 120 with onboard Tach.

Hooking everything up is simple... Plug tachometer and sensor into the female ends of Y harness. Plug the male end of the Y harness into one of the female connectors on the Y "adaptor" that comes with the tachometer. Plug the power supply into the other female connector of the Y "adaptor". You...

    DA 120 with onboard Tach.

Here is what you will need: 1) Rcexl Tachometer (either version will work). 2) Sensor mounting bracket (I recommend the adjustable shown) 3) 1/8 watt 10k ohm resistor. 4) Sensor pick up (semiconductor type). 5) Suitable power supply (ignition battery / IBEC etc..). 6) Y harness (such as Futaba...
