3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

Being relatively oblivious as to what determines a plane's engine requirements (other than obviously weight and drag), why is the new 92" Edge going to be 50-60cc, when the 103" Extra (only 11" greater wingspan) requires 100cc? Does 11" really produce that much more drag? I realize the fuse is...

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC thread Can anyone show me a pic of a GT33 setup? I'm trying to figure out how to place the throttle servo on a rear carb, but without some funky lever or pivot linkage, or drilling a big hole in the firewall, I just don't see how it works..... I moved the servo...

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC thread I gotcha. I was just doing the math in my head, and it sounded like your timer was set for ~15 seconds before your LVC kicks out. Seemed like an awfully short time to set up a landing! :)

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC thread Why don't you set your timer back some? I'd keep my timer set to go off at least a minute before LVC to keep that from happening....

    72" 3DHS Extra 330 Build Log

Well, since it is a 3DHS airframe, I reckon "flies great" is the standard, and needs not be said... :D Really though, I had it on IMAC rates and flew a few circles, then put it down. I can't really speak of any particular characteristics yet, as I've only done a few circuits. I don't want to...

    72" 3DHS Extra 330 Build Log

Finally got to fly it today!! Only one easy tame flight though. After messing with the carb all day, I had enough daylight left for one flight to trim, and luckily it only needed some left aileron trim. Thanks to Hugocraft and Diggity for helping me mess with it while they could have been flying.

    Rotate servos?

I was in my "office" doing some thinking a while ago. I wondered if anyone "rotates" servos, since it seems like the tail servos take quite a bit more beating than the ailerons do. This would make the gear teeth wear faster, and overall strain on them. I did it when I put them in my 72 Extra...
