    pilot edge 540 50cc

    Ok guys so lets get a discussion going on what power plant to put on my 30% Pilot Edge 540. So definately not going with a twin so what are your recommendations. DLE 55RE, EME 60, DLE 61 or some other choice. LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!! :LOL_gif:

    Installed!:woohoo!: Hopefully next pics will be fully assembled. Need to clean up fuse and wings, tighten up covering, attach wheel pants, props, and spinner. Install batteries for balance and should be done! Hopefully tomorrow. Been a long day so heading to :sleepy: in a few.

    Opened up the bottom for the muffler and Jug. God I hate cutting up a cowl but no choice here in that this bird was originally designed for a side mounted glow, not a big gasser!:epic:

    Traced on area to be removed.

    Needed to open the other side of the cowl up for cooling so outline the existing hole on blue tape, traced and placed on area to be opened.

    Finally got the cowl blocks glued in.:) Cross hatched the area on the firewall and back of the blocks and used 15 min epoxy. Should be permanent!

    Yep. That same Yak I forgot to screw an elevator arm in and mid flight I had one elevator. :LOL_gif: Great hijinks followed but got it back on the ground ok. Same Yak this time one of the aileron arms came out. Got it back ok. That plane is like a cat . Got 9 lives. :laughing:
