    So the paint that I found closest to match the orange isn't going to cut it. So now I am working on stripping the paint and going to go with all black. It will still look pretty good, just not quite how I envisioned.

    Tonight I was able to cut the cowl to fit. I did have to take quite a bit out of the bottom front to fit the cylinder head and muffler. Then I drilled the holes to mount the cowl. Last I was able to get one coat of paint on. It is looking very promising for a maiden this weekend!!

    About 90% done with the covering. Just need a few stripes on the bottom sides of the wings. I did also glue the hinges in for the ailerons already. When I had the plane together for the pic, I weighed it along with the rest of the gear not installed yet. 16.5 lbs dry weight:) I am sure happy...

    I will probably be in on that project! I just won't be able to start it until after an upcoming deployment. I will be expecting to see a build thread or 4 to give me a little bit of reading while I am gone. That will give me even more motivation to join in;)

    Thanks. As I was putting the servos in the wing, I was thinking about putting rails on either side of it. That should give a little more support as well if I used some basswood for that.
