    65" Vyper Discussion Thread

So another question... I see different opinions about using a throw meter for measuring control surface throws. I don't know those people, but I know the advice I've been getting here has been solid. So what are your thoughts on the matter? A necessary tool or just something that would only...

Got it thanks fellas. Well guys it's all done and ready for it's maiden. Many thanks to you all for the help and advice. Gyro I used your recommended settings for DR/Expo. I have to tell ya I am a bit nervous and I really didn't think I would be. Any last advice before I do the deed?

You did more than that my friend. You explained it in a fashion that makes sense. You should write tech manuals. So what I did is reset the model and will start from scratch, re-bind without any preconfigured settings in the TX and then follow your suggestions. BTW: The DX8 book tells me to set...

No Doubt. In fact Im thinking of getting another one of these except in the yellow version. Especially with what I know now. Also I want a true 3D machine, but Im torn between something like a 87" Extra 300 SHP or 92" Edge 540. Something along those lines.

Sorry I wasn't very clear on this one. I meant do I need to plug that one and re drill another one like I will be doing for the motor mount bolts. Think I will be okay, it's just the bolt pattern that doesn't match up. The center is still the center right?

Question, Should I have plugged the center hole in the firewall as I did with the motor mount holes or can I use that as a reference for the new motor? Sorry about picture quality, came from my phone.

All right fella's, I trust ya. You have given such solid info Im not going even question it. Thanks much. This blenderm tape, I should be able to pick that up at any local hobby shop right? I was thinking about the setup on this plane last night. The book calls for a low rate of 70% and high...

Oh good. Sealing hinge gaps --- Seen a video on it once that's about it. Don't know what the best tape is to do with either. Think the tricky part will be getting the bend just right down between the gaps... Right? The wings came already done, which was nice. Really not a fan of the nylon wing...

    65" Vyper Discussion Thread

Well I might as well get this embarrassing part out of the way. The build went really good except for a few things on the back end of the bird. As I said this is my first balsa ARF build and I was worried about the hinges binding or being too close, so much so that I messed up pretty good. As...

    65" Vyper Discussion Thread

Thanks so much guys, both are great tips. As I am a nOOb to balsa wood working I think I'll do the socket and use it as a puller. Think I'll have more control of removing those nuts. I really don't mind going the slow rout. Although in the field; tapping them out the way you explained sounds...

    65" Vyper Discussion Thread

Hi ya guys, Was hoping someone could give me some advice. I just purchased the 65" Vyper and it's my first larger plane. I chose to go with the MotrolFly 4320-450Kv motor and as you or most of you know I will have to drill the firewall because the X-Plate doesn't line up with the factory...
