    78'' Extra

I know a few people are looking at installing a DLE35 on this plane so any pics of the engine install and info on standoffs/mounting would be great.

Ordered myself a 48'' Extra EXP and it'll be here next Wednesday. Looking forward to having the Extra for my daily flyer. It's pretty sweet that it'll match my big Extra. Going with the Torque/AB combo, 65mgs, and a 85mg on the elevator. Now i'm back to waiting for the 60'' Laser and 78''...

    78'' Extra

Ordered a new cowl and wheel pants to freshen up my Extra. I can't wait :) It's going to look great. Now that i have the pipe installed i can have a really clean cutout on the cowl. I like that the pipe is black cause you don't even notice the bottom is open when you see the bottom of the plane...

    78'' Extra

I got to tach my setup today and i got 7250RPM with the Vess20B. The engine has a few gallons through it so i don't think i'll pick up much more RPM but it's right where we want and you can tell when you fly it. It idles reliably at 1800 RPM I also got to fly with the longer 1.75'' arms on the...

15 minutes....Loving every minute! It wasn't too windy today either like it has been the last few weeks so i got to really test out the new setup and i really like it. Puts the power right where it needs to be on this plane.

    78'' Extra

Got 10 flights on the Extra today. The flight time is really starting to add up on this airframe. I'm really looking forward to putting this setup in a 78'' MXS.

    60" Laser-EXP

Thanks for the info on the Laser. I wish i could see one in person before i buy it but i trust EF will deliver a quality product. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these things, i have the whole power system and 4 lipos ready to go. I'll be buying 4 more packs when i get the plane.

    78'' Extra

Thanks, i appreciate you following my progress. I had a lot of help getting everything set up. I'm using a Vess 20B right now but will probably try a Falcon 21x8 soon. The good thing is DA must be trying REALLY hard to get it right if they're taking this long. It will have to be pretty good...

If you set an idle so the prop never stops spinning that helps a bit. If all else fails reset it to default, it should have pretty good response. An idle up definitely makes a difference though, especially when going from low throttle to full really fast.

Send Brad at Twisted Hobbys an email and he should be able to help you out. Yeah you can send them in without a receipt. If it's not covered under warranty they'll call you to tell you how much it'll cost to fix them but the first time i sent in servos with stripped gears they didn't charge...

Yeah i saw that video, amazing stuff. The DA 70 looks pretty sick. No sure what prop he had on it but it hauled the plane nicely.

Dude that's so sick you got a 91'' Extra AND 88'' Edge! I wish i could have ONE of those planes. I'm sure you'll have no problems with your first gasser, you'll have lots of fun with all the flight time :) I got a 15 minute flight today on my 78'' Extra and had around 1/4 tank left. After i...

    78'' Extra

5 flights today, decided to give the SFGs a try again and i really like them. KE loops are ridiculously tight with them on. I also lowered the expo on high rates for all surfaces. I went from around 55% down to 45% on everything. I like it much more, but of course expo is very personal. It was...

+1. With the standoffs you make you'll have no problem throwing an electric motor on a gas version. It'll be a touch heavier i believe but it gives you options. The 78'' Extra is such an awesome plane. I got to fly mine today in 20MPH wind and it tracked so great through it. Doing backward...

    78'' Extra

I ended up at 27'' from the center of the header flange to the first baffle in the pipe. I'll take some more pics of the setup soon. I'm very happy with the setup though, it turned out great for my first tuned pipe. I got 6 flights today and everything held up great.
