    I performed a heart transplant on the 103" Extra 330 last night. Thought it would be a simple pull off the standard 106 and bolt on the TOC 106, but NOOOOOO it turned into a 4 hour evolution! One thing after another kept happening. After all was said and done, I believe it will be well worth it :)

    Don't forget about Radio Shack, if you still have one around you. I have one in town and they have a ton of heat shrink in all sizes :)

    Are you joining the Purple Brotherhood? There are 3 of us so far with the Crown Royal scheme on our planes. I have the 42%, I believe @stangflyer has the 37% and @49dimes has the 30% airframes.

    That sucks. I have had those days, but got lucky enough to catch the reversed servos before I took off. Looks like it will live to fly another day :-)

    Yes Rob, I want to play with your engine :) I am sure I can find something to put it on....Extra 330SC that I was just getting ready to test fly until I went to turn the engine over to go to tdc before putting prop on and heard grinding :( Didn't see any dirt in the snorkel, carb or exhaust...

    I say run the quad. I would do some extensive run ups on the ground before throwing it in the air just to make sure everything is going to stay in one piece. You say that it feels much better than the original, so I would give it a shot. You have already put all of the time in to get to this...

    Like @Terryscustom said, make sure the mechanical part is setup before you plug the power in. A little extra time on this step will pay dividends ten fold in the long run :-)

    Another late night in the garage, but made major headway on the Extra :-) Had to custom make the tunnel exits due to there not being any when I got the plane. I believe I will have plenty of exit space for hot air.
